Its innovative input capsule design allows you to attach different microphones to suit your specific recording situation. The kit comes with an accessory pack that includes a windscreen for outdoor shooting, a wired remote control and a AC power adapter for hassle free audio recording.

Dual Condenser Mics

The H5 includes a versatile XYH-5 X/Y mic capsule with two matched unidirectional condenser microphones set at 90 degree angles. This ensures a wide area of coverage with excellent clarity and definition in the centre for a more natural and immersive stereo sound in live recording scenarios.

Shock Mounted

The mic is housed within an advanced shock mount with rubber suspension wires that isolate the microphone from the H5 body, ensuring minimal vibration and handling noise. The advanced design of the XYH-5 capsule is capable of handling sounds as loud as 140dB SPL enabling you to capture sounds from closer than ever before without distortion.

Customisable Versatile Design

Additional capsules (sold separately) include a Mid-Side mic (MSH-6), a Shotgun mic (SGH-6) and a dual XLR/TRS Combo Capsule which enables you to add up to four discrete signals from external sources to cater for even the most complex recording requirements.

Phantom Power and Multiple Input Options

The H5 unit itself features two dual combo XLR/TRS inputs that deliver up to 2.5 volts of plug-in power suitable for microphones, mixers, instruments and more. Each input features a dedicated gain control knob for easy level-adjustment and fine-tuning. The included XYH-5 capsule also features a 3.5mm mini-phone jack for stereo mics, lav mics or other line-level signal devices.

Range of Audio Output Ports

The Zoom H5 features a variety of line out options as well. A dedicated line out with adjustable volume enables you to send a stereo audio signal to the mic input of a camcorder or DSLR without the need for an attenuator cable. A separate stereo headphone output can be used simultaneously, enabling you to route audio to your video or DSLR camera and monitor via headphones at the same time.

Convenient Audio Tools

The H5 outputs BWF-compliant WAV or MP3 files in a broad range of quality and compression options up to a maximum 24-bit/96kHz. Files are written to a SD or SDHC memory cards up to 32GB and the recorder even features a built-in speaker for fast, convenient playback equipping you with the ability to find and manage files on-the-go.
