This Xlite 25x100cm Pro Strip Softbox plus Grid comes in a range of shapes and sizes. It has a recessed front edge, so the included grid and mask can be easily fitted to suit the requirements of all types of photographers. These newly designed lighting modifiers have been made to withstand regular use by professional photographers.
Xlite Pro Umbrella Strip softboxes create a long, thin column of light that is typically used to create separation between the subject and the background. The long length and narrow width of a strip softbox create a very precise shaft of light that cannot be replicated by any other softbox. Portrait, fashion, and beauty photographers use strip softboxes as a hair light or rim light, as the narrow column of light from the strip casts an even light across their subject, separating them from the background, but does not send light across the rest of the frame the same as a square or rectangular softbox would. Still-life and architecture photographers use strip softboxes to create long seamless highlights across their subjects.
Perfect for on-location shooting. It folds down like a regular umbrella but expands straight into a strip softbox for instant use, saving time over traditional softboxes which require rods and speed rings for assembly. The recessed front diffuser allows for more precise positioning and feathering of light. Included are a removable grid and mask to better control light spill in situations when accuracy is essential.
