The Think Tank Airport Essentials Back Pack is aimed at busy photographers who frequently travel for work or leisure. The back pack is designed to hold a standard DSLR, a telephoto lens up to 300mm, 4+ prime or wide angle lenses, a tablet, a laptop and a host of small camera accessories.

Complies with Airlines Carry-On Size Specifications

The Airport Essentials pack has been designed to comply with size specifications from most airlines and FAA regulations for carry-on luggage. The slimline design allows you to stow it safely in the overhead bin or under the seat, ensuring you can keep it within reach at all times.

Hold Standard DSLR and Several Accessories

Despite a compact size and slim profile, the backpack can hold most of your shooting essentials. The rectangular design features an efficient padded interior that is capable of carrying a standard DSLR with a 70-200 f/2.8 telephoto lens attached, several additional lenses, speedlights, a laptop, a tablet and a variety of personal and photographic accessories.

Laptop and Tablet Pocket

The front panel of the Urban Approach 15 features a zippered compartment for a slim-style laptop up to 15” and a separate slip-in pocket designed for a 10” tablet.

Built-in Cable Lock

The Airport Essentials bag includes a handy built-in cable lock for maximum protection of your valuable equipment. Wrap the cable around a pillar or piece of furniture for complete peace of mind if you need to leave your gear unattended for a short period. For additional security, both the main compartment and laptop compartment zippers can be locked using the cable lock or your own preferred padlock.

Tripod and Water Bottle Pockets

The side of the Airport Essentials pack features a stretchable pocket to hold a water bottle, umbrella or a tripod. A strap with a quick release buckle secures the tripod and prevents the tripod from falling off.

Breathable Back Panel

A well-padded lumbar support on the back panel minimises pressure on the lower back when carrying a fully loaded bag. The back panel features a nylon mesh to ensure adequate air circulation that can wick away moisture and perspiration, thereby enhancing comfort.

Comfortable and Functional Shoulder Harness

The backpack is equipped with robust and comfortable shoulder straps to take years of constant use. The shoulder straps have been designed with a slim profile to ensure the compressed backpack and straps can fit into a small space. The ergonomic straps feature small stretchable pockets, ideal for a smartphone or a snack bar. Each shoulder strap has a daisy chain and D-ring to attach small items via a carabineer hook (sold separately).

Waist and Sternum Support Belts

To ensure the shoulder straps do not slide off the shoulder, height and length adjustable sternum straps with quick release buckle help keep the shoulder straps in position. For additional stability and comfort, a detachable waist belt can be utilised to help distribute weight from the shoulders to the hips.

Attaches to Camera Belt

The lumbar support pad on the rear panel has a pass through sleeve for attaching the backpack to a Think Tank Skin or Pro Speed Belt for additional carrying capacity and convenience.

Three Side Grab Handles

Anticipating the possibility of lifting the back pack from any side when placed under the seat or in an overhead luggage storage compartment, grab handles have been provided on the top, side and bottom of the bag.

Rain Proof

A water repellent coating shields against light showers and is supplemented with a seam sealed rain cover to protect the pack and its contents against heavy showers.

Accessory Pockets

The inside of the main compartment flap features two zippered mesh pockets for memory cards, filters, cables and lens caps. The mesh fabric allows you to see through the contents of the pocket, sparing you the hassle of searching stored items. An additional organiser pocket for frequently needed items has been provided in the laptop compartment.

What it Holds

With several removable padded dividers, the main compartment of the Think Tank Airport Essentials back pack can be customised to hold a combination of several assorted items. Removing a few dividers can create a large sub-compartment to hold even a long 500mm lens.
