USD Auto-Focus Motor 

A ring-type USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor ensures fast, accurate subject tracking and almost silent autofocus. The lens has a full-time manual override giving you complete control over your focus at any time, this allows you to autofocus quickly but also make manual adjustments as your composition changes. 

Close Minimum Focus Distance

The updated G2 lens comes with a reduced minimum object distance of just 95cm, allowing you to get closer to your subject with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.1 compared to the older Tamron 70-200 which has a ratio of 1:8.

Mode 1 is optimised for general use and provides a stabilised view on both the sensor and the viewfinder. Mode 2 is designed specifically for panning movements perfect for video and shooting motor sports while Mode 3 offers the best performance stabilising during capture without affecting the viewfinder image.
