Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD Lens

Tamron's first ultra-telephoto zoom lens with a 500mm focal length for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD lens is compact enough for comfortable handheld shooting even when extended to the 500mm telephoto end. It is equipped with VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive), a linear motor focus mechanism that delivers quiet and agile performance, as well as Tamron's VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism for high-level image stabilisation. Its compact design and outstanding image quality make this lens an ideal choice for sports and wildlife photography.

A Hand-holdable Full-frame 500mm Lens

The 150-500mm F5-6.7 is a remarkable compact size for a 500mm-class ultra-telephoto zoom for full-frame mirrorless cameras, measuring just 20.96cm long with a maximum diameter of 9.3cm. The lens is still remarkably compact at only 28.3cm when extended to the 500mm telephoto end.

Rapid Adjustment with Minimal Movement

By rotating the zoom circle through a 75° arc — less than one-quarter of a turn, the lens zooms from 150mm to 500mm. This feature allows for quick adjustment to the desired angle of view with minimal movement, resulting in fewer missed opportunities and easier composition.

Superb Optical Performance

There are 25 elements in 16 groups in the optical construction. One XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), five LD (Low Dispersion), and two Hybrid Aspherical lens elements are used extensively to control aberrations, including axial chromatic aberrations.

Extremely Responsive AF

The 150-500mm F5-6.7 provides fast, comfortable, and accurate focusing on all shooting distances. The VXD linear motor focus mechanism, which was first introduced in the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD, is used in the Tamron 150-500mm F5-6.7 lens. This feature ensures extremely responsive performance by delivering extreme high-speed and high-precision movement.

Focus Tracking and Silent Shooting

Focus tracking has been greatly improved to allow for the capture of fast-moving subjects such as sporting events, birds, and aviation photography. Besides, the linear motor reduces drive noise and vibrations produced during focusing, making it ideal for shooting both still photos and video in low-noise environments.

Vibration Compensation Mode Selection

The lens has a VC mode selection switch with three settings (Mode 1: Standard, Mode 2: Exclusively for Panning, and Mode 3: Framing Priority), allowing the user to choose the best VC mode for the situation. This feature provides excellent image stabilisation, allowing for a significant reduction in image blur caused by camera shake.

Incredible Close-up Capabilities

For an ultra-telephoto lens, the Tamron 150-500mm F5-6.7 lens provides excellent close-up shooting capabilities. At 150mm, the MOD is 0.6m and at 500mm, the MOD is 1.8m. At 150mm, the maximum magnification ratio is 1:3.1, which is extremely high.

The Tamron 150-500mm F5-6.7 features a moisture-resistant design with Fluorine Coating providing extra protection. Besides, BBAR-G2 Coating diminishes ghosting and flare. It employs FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism to support greater usability and includes an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod mount as well as a flexible lens hood.
