Premium Compact
The Sony RX100 VI brings a massive 24-200mm zoom to the ever-popular RX series of premium compact cameras. Staying true to the ethos of the compact range the RX 100 Mark 6 is incredibly portable making it perfect for content creators on-the-go.
Perfect for Vlogging and Social Media
Designed for modern content creators, it refuses to compromise on quality or features, in fact it does the exact opposite. Able to capture ultra-sharp full pixel readout 4K video, the pocket-size powerhouse can also shoot Sony’s HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) for instant HDR, 960 fps for super slow-motion video and boasts an impressive 4-stops of optical image stabilisation.
Stacked 20.1 Megapixel Sensor with DRAM Chip
Inside the compact camera is a sizeable 1-inch 20.1-megapixel image sensor for excellent image quality. The stacked design has an integrated DRAM chip, which delivers an ultra-fast readout to enable super-slow-motion, full sensor readout 4K video, and high-speed Hybrid AF with an impressive 0.03sec AF speed.
Massive Magnification 24-200mm Zeiss Vario-Sonnar Lens
A first for the RX100 series, the camera boasts a massive telephoto focal range from 24mm to a 200mm, providing absolute compositional freedom to photographers. The camera’s unique optical design uses extra-low dispersion, advanced and standard aspherical elements to achieve incredible image sharpness.
Wide f/2.8-4.5 Aperture for Shallow Depth of Field
Combining with the super versatile focal range the camera has a bright f/2.8 aperture at the wide end of the zoom and f/4.5 when fully extended, allowing you to create images with a soft out-of-focus background. The improved image processor improves maximum ISO to 12800 for better low-light performance.
4-Stop Optical Image Stabilisation
Boasting a huge 4-stops of optical image stabilisation, the RX100M6 compensates for camera shake and movement to produce sharper images and smoother video, even when shooting at telephoto magnifications. This impressive vibration reduction produces better results in low-light conditions or when shooting handheld.
Capture 4K HDR Footage with Full Pixel Readout
The ultra-fast readout speed of the stacked sensor combined with the BIONZ X image processor and Front-end LSI allow the camera to record ultra-high definition 4K video without any pixel binning for maximum detail. Sony’s HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) means you can record HDR footage that can be played back on a compatible TV with no additional grading or processing required.
960 fps Slow Motion Video
Taking advantage of the sensor super-quick readout speeds, the camera can record an ultra-fast burst of slow-mo in the HFR mode up to 960 frames per second. This translates to around 40x slower than normal speed, perfect for turning super quick moving action into epic moody slow-mo.
Acquire Focus in 0.03 Seconds
With a Hybrid AF system, the RX 100 Mark 6 acquires autofocus with lightning fast speed in 0.03 seconds. It has 315 focal-plane phase-detection points that cover 65% of the image area, allowing you to accurate tracking moving subjects whether your capturing stills or movies.
24fps Burst Shooting with AF and AE tracking
The sheer processing power packed into this portable camera allows it to shoot an impressive burst of 24 images a second with autofocus and autoexposure tracking, for up to 233 frames. This means you can capture the action with a camera that fits in a jacket pocket or handbag. Sony have also added a feature that groups images shot in burst mode to make checking your photos easier.
Eye-AF
Sony’s premium compact camera introduces the eye-tracking autofocus function found on the higher end Sony models that accurately keeps focus locked on your subject’s eyes even if they look down, away or are in partial darkness. Perfect for portraits and impromptu fashion shoots.
New Easy Access 2.35M OLED Viewfinder
Featuring a redesigned pop-up OLED viewfinder, the RX100 6 makes switching between LCD and EVF shooting easier than ever. With the flick of a button the 2.36 Million dot OLED viewfinder springs to action, allowing you to frame your shots with precision. The new design removes the need to pull the viewfinder hood before use, making it significantly quicker.
Touchscreen with 180° Tilt Functionality
A 3-inch LCD screen on the back of the camera allows you to frame and review shots with ease. The screen tilts up a full 180° and down 90° so you can compose from unique angles, while the new touch shutter function allows you to trigger autofocus and shutter release by simply touching the back of the screen. The touchscreen can also control manual focus when shooting with the viewfinder.
Enhanced Filmmaking Functionality
Although a more than capable still camera, the Sony RX 100 MK6 is jam packed with features inherited from Sony’s high-end cinema cameras. It has a clean HDMI output, S-Log 2 and S-Log 3, gamma display assist, zebra exposure guides, focus peaking as well as proxy recording.
Integrated Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth Connectivity
The camera has built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth functionality that lets you remotely control the camera from your mobile device, record location information, and transfer images and video via the free Sony PlayMemories mobile app.
