Sony 40mm f/2.5 G Lens
The Sony 40mm f/2.5 G lens is designed for users of all genres and is part of a new trilogy of Sony prime lenses for the next generation of Alpha cameras. It features a 7-blade aperture unit which produces stunning results for both photography and videography. This lens has fast and consistent aperture values, resulting in excellent bokeh and high-resolution performance. Additionally, it has an incredibly close focus distance, allowing you to capture great close-up images.
High Resolution Performance with Beautiful Bokeh
The Sony 40mm f/2.5 G lens employs aspherical and ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements which deliver sharp and detailed images with minimum aberrations. Besides, it effectively diminishes colour fringing and suppresses chromatic aberration.
Intuitive Operability in a Compact Size
The 40mm F2.5 features a focus hold button, aperture ring, aperture click switch, and focus mode switch, all in an incredibly compact size with only 0.173kg weight. The Linear Response Manual Focus ring enhances the lens' intuitive operability and design, giving you more control and a better user experience.
Outstanding Autofocus Performance
The 40mm F2.5 is powered by two linear motors that provide fast, accurate autofocus and excellent AF tracking performance. When used in conjunction with an Alpha camera equipped with Real-time Tracking, autofocus tracking is maintained even with any instantaneous changes. Its responsive autofocus capabilities produce excellent results for both still photography and video production.
Quiet and Low-vibration AF Ideal for Movie Shooting
Aside from extremely fast and precise autofocus, the two linear motors produce very little noise, making the 40mm F2.5 lens perfect for both still and video, where near-silent operation is essential. The user can also benefit from a deep-ribbed focus wheel with linear focus response and a deep-ribbed iris wheel when shooting stills or videos.
Superb Build Quality to Withstand Challenging Environments
The 40mm F2.5 has a sturdy construction that is meant to resist the rigours of everyday use. For maximum durability, it features a dust and weather-resistant design. Also, the exterior finish and lens hood are made of tough aluminium. The aperture ring indices, focal length markings, and the Sony logo on the hood are engraved, giving a finish with a sophisticated feel.
