In addition to its extraordinary performance characteristics, the 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS has been designed with weight minimisation in mind. At just 1.470kg, this lens is by far the most hand-holdable fast super-telephoto prime available.

Outstanding Autofocus Speed

Employing a similar dual-XD Linear system to that used in the 400mm and 600mm GM Supertelephoto primes, the 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS inherits breathtaking, class-leading autofocus performance, which is critically important for the rapid close-range action that this lens is designed to capture. When paired with the flagship α1 body, it is possible to shoot high-speed bursts at up to 30 frames per second.

Uncompromising Optical Performance

As expected for a GM super telephoto prime, the 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS delivers superb resolution across the frame at all aperture and beautiful background defocus that perfectly isolates your subject. The inclusion of three large Super ED glass elements at key points in the optical chain ensures perfect clarity for images that are ready to submit from the moment you press the shutter.
