Boasting a massive zoom range, the 200-600mm super-telephoto lens provides extensive framing versatility that gives photographers significant control over their composition. But that’s not all, the lens is also compatible with Sony’s 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, which can boost the focal length to a maximum 1200mm while still retaining image quality.

High-end Optical Design

Using 24 elements that are arranged in 17 groups, the lens delivers excellent image quality across the entire zoom range. Five ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements and an aspherical element are used to control both spherical and chromatic aberrations to make sure the lens produces crisp, sharp results every time.

11-Bladed Aperture

The lens has a 200-600mm focal length that is perfect for creating sharp images with beautiful out of focus backgrounds. The circular aperture is made out of 11-blades which creates a stunning soft bokeh that can give your subject a three dimensional look and feel.

Sony have designed the 200-600mm to meet the needs of a wide range of photographers, it has three customisable focus hold buttons arranged at 90° intervals around the lens barrel as well as an internal zoom mechanism that keeps the length of the lens the same at any focal range. The lens also features three focus limiting modes to match the distance of your subject for more accurate autofocus performance.
