Fast, Accurate Auto Focus

The Sony 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 G Master lens uses two floating focus groups, driven by a double linear motor and a Direct Drive Super Sonic wave Motor, to provide quiet, fast, and precise autofocus with incredibly tight tracking throughout the entire focal range.

Adjustable Zoom Torque

The lens also includes adjustable zoom torque which is a new feature for Sony. This allows you to change how the zoom feels in hand, depending on individual preference and shooting style. Set a lower torque for faster zooming or increase it for a slower and more precise zoom.

22 Elements in 16 Groups

The lens features 22 Elements in 16 Groups with one Super Extra-Low Dispersion element and two Extra-Low Dispersion glass elements significantly reduce chromatic aberrations to maintain the lens’s high resolution from edge-to-edge for sharp, detailed images with superb colour reproduction and contrast throughout the zoom range.

Anti-Reflection Nano-Coating

Sony’s Nano AR coating helps to eliminate the reflections that can often cause ghosting or flare when shooting in bright, backlit, or other tricky lighting conditions. This results in more flexibility for framing and composition, along with the benefit of consistently high contrast and clarity.
