The other trick up its sleeve is its ability to record direct to digital audio recording* via Sony's Multi-Interface shoe for interference-free high-quality audio results.

Digital Audio Compatible

The Sony ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone uses Sony's proprietary Multi-Interface Shoe to cleverly eliminate unwanted noise by bypassing the cameras analogue to digital audio converter*. Requiring no cables or batteries, the Sony Shotgun Microphone offers clean, noise-free, high-quality audio for your next video production.

Eight Individual Microphone Capsules

Internally, the microphone uses eight separate microphone capsules and a high-performance digital signal processor to capture sound and deliver outstanding audio clarity with versatile recording options.

Three Directivity Modes

The unique microphone capsule design is utilised in conjunction with advanced digital signal processing to offer three switchable directivity patterns to tailor audio recording specific to your shooting environment. Choose from super cardioid for a more traditional shotgun result, cardioid for a wider pickup from the front and better isolation from ambient sound, or omnidirectional for an all-encompassing 360° soundscape.

Total Audio Control

The rear of the microphone features audio controls to further fine-tune your recording to your specific environment or scenario. Controls includes a low-cut filter, the ability to set auto or manual audio levels, and a 0dB, 10dB or 20dB attenuator (PAD) to help control distortion.

Built-in Digital to Analogue Converter

The rear of the Sony ECM-B1M shotgun mic also allows you to control the digital or analogue output. This allows cameras that don't support its digital audio interface natively to still be able to record high quality audio output wirelessly via Sony's Multi-Interface Shoe.

Integrated Shock Mount

An integrated shock mount compensates for camera shake and movement, minimising handling noise and vibration from contaminating your audio recording

Includes Windshield

An included windshield further adds to your creative potential by minimising wind noise when shooting in outdoor conditions or when shooting from a moving vehicle.
