Sony a7C R Overview

The a7CR is a class-leading device, featuring an Exmor R 61 MP full-frame sensor, similar to that in the acclaimed A7R V series. With cutting-edge technology, the camera ensures no detail is missed. The device offers consistent, accurate exposure and colour through its new high-powered BIONZ XR processing engine and advanced AE algorithm. This system is especially effective in challenging conditions, such as backlit, shadowed, or over-illuminated scenes.

To achieve a cinematic look effortlessly, the BIONZ XR processing engine is eight times faster than its predecessor, minimising latency and bolstering movie and still image processing capabilities.

AI Processing Chip

Regarding AI capabilities, the A7CR has an innovative AI Processing chip that can accurately recognise human movements. Its human pose estimation technology uses a skeleton-based model, allowing for highly precise recognition of not just eyes but also body and head positions. The camera even possesses the ability to lock onto and track subjects facing away or with their face partially obscured. Video features include oversampled 4K video for sharp, crisp images and a variety of Creative Look presets.

Advanced 5-Axis and 7-Step Image Stabilisation

For enhanced operability, the A7CR features a new Still/Movie/S&Q selector switch, along with a customisable new front dial. The advanced 5-axis and 7.0-step image stabilisation facilitate improved handheld shooting for stills. The unit is synchronised with compatible lenses that have built-in image stabilisation for even more stable framing.

Creators' App with Live Streaming

Lastly, the camera can be connected to a smart device via the Creators' App, offering remote control for recording videos and image or video transfers. The app also serves as a monitor for checking framing and focus. In addition, the device supports live streaming through any Windows or Mac computer, facilitated by UAC and UVC protocols that allow for the simultaneous transfer of audio and video, negating the need for a separate microphone.
