The SmallRig Cage for Nikon Z 8 3940 offers robust protection and a variety of accessory mounting options for enhanced versatility. Securing the camera with a 1/4"-20 screw at the bottom, a locating screw, and a right-side lock adapter, the cage features rubber pads to prevent scratches and provides full access to all buttons, card slots, the flip screen, and the battery door. It includes numerous mounting points, such as 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes, ARRI 3/8"-16 locating holes compatible with accessories like Side Handle 2093 & 3814, Top Handle 3765, Monitor Mount 2903 & 2904, and Manfrotto Plates 1280 & 2458. Additionally, the side 1/4"-20 locating hole fits the Single Rod Clamp 3598 and Magic Arm 3873, while the left NATO rail allows quick connection of Side Handles 3847 & 4017. The cage also features cold shoe mounts for microphones and LED video lights, strap holes compatible with Hand Straps 3848 & 2456, and QD mounts for quick-release QD straps. An Arca-Swiss quick-release plate at the bottom supports Arca-type tripods and DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro gimbals, enabling quick transitions between gimbal, handheld, and tripod shooting modes. For convenient assembly and disassembly, a double-ended wrench is included.
