The redesigned Sigma Contemporary 17-70 mm f/2.8-4 DC OS Macro HSM was conceived exclusively for APS-C sized Digital SLR sensors and incorporates Sigma`s original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. This versatile lens covers several angles of view from wide to telephoto and offers a large aperture of f/2.8 at the 17mm focal length. A minimum focusing distance of 22cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.8 delivers the ability to shoot everything from close-up macro to vast sweeping landscapes.

A HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet and high speed autofocus, while a full-time manual focus override allows focus via rotation of the conventional focus ring. A Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) compound material used for the outer body allows for a 30% reduction in size compared to similar conventional models, making it a perfect travel lens. Two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements and one SLD (Super Low Dispersion) element combine to reduce colour aberration and provide great edge to edge sharpness while a Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting. Compatible with theSigma Optimisation Pro software suite, the firmware and focusing parameters of the Sigma Contemporary 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC OS Macro HSM are updatable via an optional USB dock.
