Developed to be considered for use as a high-end cine lens, Sigma required it to have a consistent image quality over the entire sensor, giving photographers and cinematographers the versatility to frame their subject anywhere within the frame while retaining optimum colour, contrast and sharpness.

Uncompromising Optical Performance

Its internal construction consists of three F-Low Dispersion (FLD) glass elements and three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements which effectively negate axial and magnification chromatic aberration. The result is an ultra-sharp image, even at maximum aperture with strong contrast and beautifully rendered bokeh to add depth and make your subject truly stand out in the frame. An included lens hood helps reduce lens flare while improving contrast performance.

Smooth, Creamy Bokeh

Its 9-blade aperture opens to a massive f/1.4 to produce smooth, creamy bokeh and excellent foreground to background separation. The bright aperture is also great for low-light applications, equipping you with improved exposure versatility.

Fast, Quiet Autofocus Performance

Focusing is smooth and quiet thanks to Sigma’s proven high-speed Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) drive system. An updated algorithm ensure focus lock is fast and consistent for both photo and video requirements. A manual override switch is available on the lens barrel, enabling you to switch to manual focus even during continuous AF for fine-tuned control and critical focus scenarios.
