Sigma's New Cinema Lens Line-Up
Sigma have outdone themselves with their latest range of cinema lenses, boasting their highest level of optical performance yet in a compact design. The 135mm lens is the longest focal length in the range, offering full frame sensor coverage for tighter focus and detailed shots. With a bright T2 light transmission rating, it performs well in different lighting conditions and allows for a narrow depth of field with soft, gradual falloff. The focus ring rotation angle is more than double that of still camera lenses for more precise focusing. Plus, its sealed all-metal body is dust and splash-proof, making it perfect for the demands of production life.
135mm Wide Angle Prime Cinema Lens
The Sigma 135mm T2 FF Sony E prime is the longest focal length in their impressive new line-up. Full frame sensor coverage and a tighter field of view are excellent for capturing targeted close-ups or scenes requiring more attention to detail.
Bright T2 Light Transmission Rating
With a bright T2 light transmission rating, the lens performs brilliantly no matter the lighting type or scenario you’re working with. This is especially beneficial if your production requires both studio and location work. This allows you to be more flexible with your lighting options and to work confidently in lowlight or changing conditions.
Resolve 8K Images
Known for their ultra-high-performance optical system, Sigma and their 135mm Cine lens does not disappoint, able to resolve up to 8K imagery with astonishing detail. Computer-based ray tracing has been used during the design process from the ground up. This advanced process effectively minimises flare and ghosting while also contributing to enhanced contrast in backlit conditions.
Professional Geared Controls
The position of the geared control rings is standard across the Cine line-up, so even when you change lenses, accessories and attachments can stay place for a more efficient workflow. The focus ring has a 180° rotational angle, more than double that of still camera lenses, for extremely sensitive and high-precision focusing. The click-less iris ring offers soundless full manual control, contributing to highly accurate exposures throughout the scene.
Standardised Colour Balance
The entire line-up of cinema lenses are built to comply with Sigma’s own CCI standard. This leads to more consistent performance with matching colour balance no matter which lens is used in your production. Colour correction becomes quick and easy to replicate from one scene to the next.
All-Metal Production Quality Build
Compared to many other cinema lenses, the Sigma 135mm T2 lens Sony E is quite compact and lightweight making it ideal for a life on-set. The all-metal body has laser engraved measurements for better readability and longevity. Extremely robust construction has each ring mount sealed against dust and moisture, ensuring the lens is ready for even the toughest jobs, both in studio and on location.
