The Samyang 135mm T/2.2 VDSLR II Lens is designed for full frame cameras to be able to capture smooth cinematic looking footage with excellent image quality. With a maximum aperture of T2.2 and a 9-bladed iris, the telephoto lens focuses internally to minimise the effect of focus breathing. The geared aperture ring and focus ring are located in the same position as other lenses in the VDSLR II series which makes swapping lenses easier when using follow focus rigs.

Bright Maximum Aperture of T2.2

An aperture range of T/2.2 to T/22 allows you to precisely control your depth-of-field, and distinct marking on the lens barrel allow you to clearly identify your focal setting and relevant hyperfocal range. The bright T/2.2 aperture makes the lens ideal for low-light situations and the nine-bladed aperture delivers a beautiful out-of-focus depth of field.

Aperture and Focus Gear Rings

Featuring aperture and focus gears, the Samyang 135mm T2.2 is compatible with follow focus rigs. Both rings are located in the same position as other lenses in the VDSLR II series making it easy to swap lenses without re-adjusting the rig. The aperture ring is de-clicked for smoother focus pulls and the lens barrel features a focus scale on both the top and bottom to ensure visibility.

11 Lenses in 7 Groups

The optical construction of the 135mm lens consists of 11 individual lens elements arranged with precision in 7 groups. One of the elements used is an extra low dispersion lens (ED) which is utilised to ensure quality resolving ability. Each lens is also carefully tested to ensure it colour matches other lenses in the VDSLR II series, for reliable consistent colour performance.

UMC Coating

Samyang’s specially developed Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) optimises light transmission for brighter results. The coating also serves to minimise imperfections such as flares and ghosting and control spherical aberrations.

Minimum Focus Distance of 80cm

Offering a minimal focus distance of 80cm, the Samyang 135mm has a more than adequate close up shooting ability for a telephoto lens. This allows you to get nice tight close-ups shots that help build your narrative.

Aluminium Frame and Petal Lens Hood

An aluminium alloy frame construction keeps the Samyang Cine DS 135mm T2.2 VDSLR UMC II Lens lightweight while still retaining a robust durability. The petal-shaped lens hood minimises lens flares and is detachable for flexibility.
