With an impressive 500Ws of illumination, the Phottix Indra500TTL Studio Light is a fully wirelessly controllable off-camera flash that features through the lens (TTL) metering, and a portable design that makes it suitable for in-studio work as well as on-location lighting.
TTL Metering for Canon and Nikon
Working in conjunction with the camera’s auto-exposure, the TTL functionality allows you to use the Phottix Indra 500 in both shutter and aperture priority modes. Particularly useful for scenes where the light is constantly changing and for moving subjects. TTL metering opens vast possibilities for creativity and allows you to spend less time manually adjusting light levels and more time shooting. The system supports Canon and Nikon cameras and is able to have the firmware upgraded when further camera firmware is added in the future.
Built-in Triggering
The Indra 500 features a built-in 2.4GHz radio system that can be triggered by a Phottix Odin TTL Flash Trigger or Phottix Strato II (not included). Using the Odin TTl Flash Trigger allows switching between automatic and manual flash modes, EV adjustments in ±3EV in 1/3-stop increments and the modification of other flash setting from up to 100 metres away. The Strato II receiver allows triggering the flash, but only in the manual mode. The system also supports optical slave mode and cable sync is available.
High Speed Sync (HSS)
Using the Indra 500’s HSS mode allows you to control ambient light and shoot at wide apertures to create a shallow depth of field, supporting shutter speeds of up to 1/8000 of a second*. The flash also offers second curtain sync allowing use of slow shutter speeds to create a natural looking blur trail behind subjects in motion.
Flash Bracketing
Automatic Flash Bracketing provides multiple options of different flash power settings rather than changing aperture or shutter speed to give you the option to choose the right shot or combine elements to achieve the most pleasing combination of ambient light and fill flash.
Stroboscopic Mode
For special effects and creative images, the stroboscopic mode offers a series of rapid flashes for capturing multiple images of a moving subject in a single image.
Variable Power and EV Level
The flash offers 8 stops of power adjustment from full power to 1/128, allowing exposure control and ensuring the flexibility to shoot under different lighting conditions. At low power settings, flash durations as short as 1/15000 (t.1) seconds are possible for freezing action shots. In the TTL mode, exposures can be adjusted in +/- 3 EV levels.
Compatible with a Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery
When powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack (not included) the Indra 500 can become the perfect on-location lighting solution allowing you to bring your lighting setup wherever you go.
Modelling Lamp
A power saving 9W LED modelling lamp with 9 adjustment levels allows you to preview the light on your subject to make sure you are happy with the angle and diffusion. Auto shut-off ensures that the unit conserves power and avoids overheating, when not in use.
Control Panel with LCD
For controlling system functions in the manual modes, the flash features a simple and easy to use control panel and a 320 x 240 TFT LCD screen with orientation sensitivity.
Bowens S-Mount
A Bowens S-fit mount on the front of the unit allows using a wide range of light modifiers to cover every situation and the kit is supplied with a 7-inch reflector.
Upgradable
The Phottix Indra 500 TTL Studio Light offers a USB socket for future firmware upgrading ensuring the Indra500 evolves with the changes in technology.
