Premium Telephoto Lens
The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 70-200mm is a top-of-the-line telephoto lens with a large f/2.8 aperture that stays constant across the entire focal range. It's a real workhorse lens for the L-mount system, designed for professional photographers. Dual I.S. 2 support means the advanced optical image stabilisation can work with an in-body IS system to give you a whopping 7-stops of stabilisation. The lens has a complex optical construction with cutting-edge optics and coatings to deliver superior imaging performance.
Professional Telephoto Focal Range
A 70-200mm lens is an absolute necessity for any working imaging professional to have in their bag and now Lumix have delivered a workhorse lens with a strong emphasis on resolution and performance. The impressive zoom range ensures that the lens is incredibly versatile, making it a perfect choice for a wide range of shooting situations.
f/2.8 Aperture at Every Focal Length
As any working photographer will tell you, having a bright constant f/2.8 aperture on your telephoto lens is not just nice it’s an absolute lifesaver. With double the amount of light over the f/4 version, the 70-200mm is ideal in darker lighting condition or for use with teleconverters for additional long-distance reach.
Circular 11-Bladed Aperture Diaphragm
Designed to create beautiful soft looking bokeh, the aperture of the lens is constructed with 11 circular blades. This provides a smooth defocus gradation that adds a three-dimensional quality to take your images and video to the next level.
Compatible with 1.4x and 2.0 Teleconverters
Thanks to the fast f/2.8 aperture, the lens can be combined with the 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverters for when additional reach is required. This makes the lens suited for safari, nature and bird photography as well as sports and photojournalism.
Built-in Optical Image Stabilisation
The integrated stabilisation system that compensates for shakes, bumps and vibrations is impressive to say the least, with a choice of two different modes that can be manually switched. This means you can shoot hand-held with confidence even when framing a shot with the lens fully extended.
7-stop Dual I.S. 2
When mounted on a S-series LUMIX camera the optical IS in the lens works in conjunction with the in-body 5-axis system in the camera to deliver a ridiculous 7-stops of stabilisation. This impressive performance results in even sharper images and less blur when shooting sports, wildlife, or portraits at longer focal lengths.
Premium Optical Design
Inside the lens are 22 optical elements arranged in 17 groups, capable the incredibly high resolving power that makes the lens a perfect match for high resolution sensors. Astigmatism is corrected with the use of an aspherical element and two Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion (UED) elements combine with three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements to ensure chromatic aberrations are controlled.
Ultra-Precise & Fast Autofocus
Designed to meet the demands of working professionals, the S-series 70-200mm f/2.8 lens has a double focus system that uses a linear and a stepping motor to deliver ultra-fast autofocus speed with enhanced precision. The system also controls focus breathing for smoother transitions in video and has a limiting function switch on the side of the lens.
Manual Focus Clutch Control
At the end of the lens is a manual focus ring with a clutch control design that allows shooters to seamlessly and easily switch between auto and manual focus in seconds. When in the MF mode, the lens displays focus measurements and can even have the throw adjusted, on the camera.
All Weather Build Quality
The Pansonic LUMIX S PRO 70-200mm f2.8 O.I.S Lens is an ideal option for photo and video shooters who demand the most from their gear. The lens is weather sealed to make it dust, splash and freeze resistant, protecting the interior of the lens from sand, rain and cold damage.
