The Panasonic LUMIX GH5 II shows Panasonic's ongoing commitment to G Series Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera technology, bringing significant new features to G Series fans. Content creators can now enjoy the renowned image quality and usability of the GH line, as well as the unparalleled live streaming capabilities of the GH5M2, allowing them to live stream from anywhere and anytime.

Wireless live streaming

The LUMIX GH5 II is the first G Series model to support high quality wireless live streaming via the LUMIX Sync app, which requires only the camera and a smartphone. This eliminates the need for a paid cloud streaming server by allowing direct streaming to platforms like YouTube or Facebook. Furthermore, video quality is enhanced by using 1080p Full HD at up to 60 frames per second (16Mbpsiii).

Wired live streaming

The LUMIX Webcam Software download transforms the camera into a high-quality webcam that connects directly to a PC via USB for wired live streaming. The camera will support wired IP streaming (RTP/RTSP) with the benefit of higher image quality and greater stability with a future firmware update, allowing for more flexibility in live production and multi-camera setups.

20.3-megapixel sensor with 6.5 stops image stabilisation

The camera employs a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor with a new Anti-Reflective (AR) coating for maximum lens performance, as well as an updated image processor with the latest high-speed Venus Engine. The advanced Body I.S (Image Stabiliser) and the latest algorithm developed for the S1H give the GH5M II up to 6.5 stops slower shutter speeds for impressively stable handheld shooting and video panning - a 1.5 stop improvement over the GH5.

High-precision AF

The new camera offers a high-speed, high precision autofocus system. In addition to the eye, face, and body, real-time detection technology recognises the head separately to provide even more precise focusing. Additionally, advancements in DFD technology have improved AFC, allowing the camera to track small or fast-moving subjects and capture them in crisp focus. It can detect the eye and face at a 2x faster recognition cycle speed than the GH5, even though they are approximately 50% smaller in the frame.

High-quality video

The GH5 II has exceptional video performance for professional videography and is capable of unlimited video recording in all video modes. Furthermore, the camera can record C4K/4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit and provides a simultaneous output of 4:2:2 10-bit over HDMI while recording 4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit internally. When recording in 4K 60p, there is no cropping, allowing the user to capture video from the lens's original viewing angle.

Reliability and versatility in the field

Thia model features a tough field-ready design. It has a magnesium alloy full diecast front/rear frame, is splash- and dust-resistant, and can withstand temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. With relay recording and backup support, dual SD card slots provide even more flexibility. A versatile free-angle 3.0-inch LCD rear monitor (3:2 aspect, 1840K-dot) with higher luminosity than the GH5 and superior colour reproduction for better visibility in outdoor shooting situations improve shooting ergonomics.
