Ultimate in Low-Light Performance
The GH5s has been specifically designed for low-light performance, it is the first mirrorless camera to shoot Cinema 4K footage with a resolution of 4096x2160 at 60fps. High Sensitivity 10.2 Megapixel Image Sensor
Inside the GH5S is an all-new 10.2-megapixl MOS sensor that has been developed for enhanced versatility in a range of lighting conditions. The sensor uses a unique Dual Native ISO function to deliver precision autofocus in situations as dark as -5EV that allow you to capture stills and video with dramatically reduced noise.
Dual Native ISO Settings
A feature first seen in Panasonics high-end cinema cameras, Dual Native ISO uses two separate analogue circuits on the sensor that connect to two different gain amps. This allows the GH5S to produce clean footage at ISO 400 but also at a much higher ISO 2500 setting. This versatile design makes it a very practical camera that can perform well in a wide range of lighting conditions.
DCI 4K 60fps and 240fps Full HD Video
A first for mirrorless cameras, the Panasonic GH5S shoots Cinema 4K at a frame rate of 60fps which, combined with the ability to shoot 10x slower footage in Full HD at 240fps, means the GH5S can capture quick moving subjects in stunning slow-motion. The camera can record 400mbps 4K 4:2:2 10-Bit All-Intra video as well as 200mbps Full HD All-Intra video and has an unlimited recording time that is only restricted by battery life and SD card capacity.
Multi Aspect Ratio Sensor
Another unique feature of the GH5S is the ability to modify the aspect ratio of a shot without affecting the angle of view. This allows you to capture your choice of ratios like 4:3, 17:9, 16:9 and 3:2 without sacrificing any of your focal length. This function is available for stills, and works in the 4K, C4K video and anamorphic modes.
10-Bit 4:2:2 Live Output and Simultaneous Internal Recording
Fully equipped to shoot pro-video the camera can output a 10-Bit real-time signal with 4:2:2 sampling to an external monitor or recorder, while at the same time recording in camera. The 10-Bit colour option captures four times the tonality of 8-bit footage for more accurate grading, improved green screen performance and the ability to capture subtle colour graduations during sunset and sunrise without the risk of banding.
Included V-Log Colour Profile and Hybrid Log Gamma
Panasonic’s V-Log profile is a highly regarded logarithmic gamma curve that enables you to capture a flat image with the best dynamic range to achieve a range of colour grading options in post-production. The camera also supports a LUT function that assists with exposure and displays a preview of what graded footage should look like. The HLG or Hybrid Log Gamma mode is ideal for fast-paced workflows where dynamic range is still important but colour grading is not an option.
3.2-inch Touch Tilt-Screen and 3680K-dot EVF
Designed so you can easily compose your scene from any angle, the fully articulating 3.2-inch LCD screen delivers excellent visibility with touch functionality. The large 3680K-dot OLED viewfinder has a massive 0.76x magnification and an ultra-fast 120fps refresh rate with minimal lag that allows you to easily track quick moving subjects.
Night Mode and 20x MF Assist
Both the EVF and rear LCD offer a night mode that protects dilated pupils while shooting in dark environments by switching to a red-cast display. Combined with an impressive 20x MF assist function this makes it an excellent camera for astrophotography and extreme low-light shooting. There is even a Live View Boost function to assist in extreme low-light composition that brightens the display by lowering the frame rate and increasing the gain.
4K Photo Mode
With the ultra-fast 60fps frame rate the camera can capture high resolution 4K footage and then extract each frame as an 8-megapixel image. This essentially allows you to capture 60 shots in a second to ensure you get that exact decisive moment with a fast-moving subject.
Fast DFD Autofocus and 14-Bit RAW Burst Shooting
The GH5S makes use of Panasonic’s DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology to deliver fast and accurate autofocus performance with a maximum AF-C burst rate of 8fps and a AF-S rate of 12fps. The camera quickly compares two images to instantly evaluate the sharpness of the shot and identify the subject’s direction to effectively track movement. The camera also supports shooting in a 14-bit RAW format that provides 64 times the colour information of a 12-Bit RAW file.
Dual UHS- II SD Card Slots
Dual SD slots that support UHS-II and V60/V90 speed cards can be setup to act as an instant backup in simultaneous mode or in relay mode that overflows from one card to the next, allowing you to hot swap a full card with a fresh one for potentially endless recording. The camera can also be configured in the backup mode that records continuously on one card, while you start and stop recording on the other to assist with your editing workflow.
Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Connectivity
Expand your control with lightning fast 5GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity combined with Bluetooth v4.2 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) compatibility that enables the camera to remain connected to your smart device for remote triggering, preview and playback.
Versatile Professional Functionality
Designed for professional shooters, the GH5S is packed full of functions and features that make it an absolute workhorse like time code IN/OUT terminals for synchronisation with external devices and cameras, line input audio support, waveform monitor displays and vectorscopes as well as an integrated anamorphic de-squeeze mode. The camera also supports PAL, NTSC, and CINEMA frequencies and can display the shutter speed as shutter angle for operators.

It is freeze-proof to -10°C and boasts a splash and dustproof design with weather sealing on every joint, dial and button.
