The Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 II: A Versatile Bridge Camera

The Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 II is a bridge camera that offers a great combination of high resolution stills and 4K video recording, plus a powerful 16x Leica optical zoom lens. It's perfect for beginners who want DSLR-quality images with the ease of point-and-shoot photography, plus the opportunity to explore their creative potential as they become more experienced.

Next Generation 4K Functionality

Post Focus Photo Mode
The revolutionary Post Focus option allows you to capture a scene and choose the focus later. The Post Focus mode combines the camera's existing Depth from Defocus autofocusing system and its 4K movie capabilities to record roughly one second of video at 30 frames per second. During this recording, the camera's autofocusing system scans from the foreground to the background of the scene to capture the focus possibilities of the entire shot. In playback mode the focal point can then be selected by simply touching the point that you want to appear sharp. The camera automatically selects the optimum frame and gives you the option to export.

Focus Stacking Photo
By using the same technology as the Post Focus Mode, the camera takes a video at 30 frames a second while automatically changing the autofocus from close to far to ensure that every bit of focus information is captured. Then in playback mode you can combine areas that are in focus from different shots together into the one shot. Perfect for Macro images or any other style of photography where all-round sharpness is key.

4K Burst Mode Capture
Perfect for fast-moving action the 4K Burst Mode captures 30 frames-a-second for as long as you press the shutter down, the 4K Burst Start/Stop allows you to toggle recording on and off. The last mode is a 4K Pre-Burst which captures 30 frames before you even press the shutter and then another 30 frames after you press the shutter for 60 frames in total.

20.1 Megapixel Sensor

In photo mode, the camera is also in a class of its own. At its heart is a 1-inch 20.1 megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor which delivers vibrant, detail-rich images with minimal noise. The powerful quad-core Venus Engine image processor works with the large sensor to ensure high detail and stunning colour reproduction. The ultra-fast 12fps full-resolution burst mode ensures you can capture high speed action scenes with confidence.

Leica 16x Optical Zoom Lens

The integrated 16x optical zoom Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens has been developed specifically for the FZ1000 II to offer an ultra-versatile focal range that delivers sharp detail across the entire frame. With a 35mm equivalent focal range of 25-400mm and a fast f/2.8-f/4.0 aperture, the lens equips you to capture everything from emotive portraits with beautifully blurred backgrounds to detailed close-ups of on-field sports action from the comfort and safety of the grandstand. Macro shooting capability further extends your creative potential. A focusing distance of just 3cm opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities, enabling you to capture the amazing detail and intricacies hidden in insects, flowers and other small objects.

Zoom Compose Assist function

Making it easier to shoot with the powerful zoom is Panasonic's Zoom Compose Assist Function. When shooting at higher magnifications, it can be easy to lose sight of the subject. With Zoom Compose Assist, all you need to do is quickly press a dedicated button and the camera zooms out and quickly retargets the subject at the original zoom ratio. Great for birds and tracking other moving objects.

HYBRID Optical Image Stabiliser

Image sharpness and detail is further enhanced thanks to the HYBRID Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS). The 5-axis* stabilisation technology minimises camera shake to deliver tack-sharp, blur-free photos and video. Additionally, a Level Shot function* can be used to maintain a perfect horizon line, even if the camera is tilted.

Depth from Defocus Technology

A linear motor integrated into the lens focusing system delivers lightning fast focusing speed. Cutting-edge Depth from Defocus (DFD) technology delivers quicker, more accurate focusing and allows you to shoot fleeting spur-of-the-moment scenes with confidence. The inclusion of touch focus via the rear screen allows for fast, accurate focus control, even when using the EVF.

3-Inch LCD Touch Screen

The large 3-inch 1240k-dot Free-angle LCD touch screen is effective for accurate image composition and playback. Its flip-out design encourages shooting from extreme high or low angles and can face forward for easy framing when vlogging or shooting selfies. It's touch capabilities make changing option and navigating menus an intuitive experience. Its anti-reflective coating helps eliminate glare and reflections, allowing you to shoot in a wide range of lighting conditions.

Electronic Viewfinder

A Live View Electronic Viewfinder can be utilised for a more traditional shooting experience and when critical focusing is required. It features a crystal-clear 2359k-dot resolution and 100% frame coverage to ensure your compositions are pixel perfect.

Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity

Built-in WiFi & Bluetooth functionality enables a fast, stress-free connection between the Panasonic FZ1000 II and your compatible smartphone or tablet. Utilising the free Panasonic Image App enables instant sharing to your friends, family and favourite social networks. The app also delivers wireless camera control and transforms your smart device into a remote viewfinder and remote control, allowing you to shoot from a distance.
