Capture Your Imagination with the OM SYSTEM OM-1
The OM SYSTEM OM-1 is a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera that packs a punch in a compact, lightweight design. This flagship camera of the OM SYSTEM provides users with a unique experience, allowing them to capture their imagination with ease. The OM-1 is designed to be portable, so customers can take it with them wherever they go and capture the perfect shot.
The OM-1 mirrorless camera is the result of a combination of revolutionary components and cutting-edge digital technology, giving image quality that exceeds the sensor size's expectations. It also has substantially superior focusing and sequential shooting performance than conventional versions, as well as significantly improved basic performance.
The OM SYSTEM has integrated computational photography technology at an early stage, allowing photographers to use features like Live Composite and High Res Shot mode without requiring complex shooting techniques, specific equipment, or abilities. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 now includes expanded computational photography functions, allowing for a wider variety of expressive capability and more photographic possibilities than ever before.
The OM-1 Camera can be transported anywhere at any time, thanks to the excellent portability of the Micro Four Thirds system, enabling anyone to take advantage of its exceptional performance to capture various imaging expressions with great picture quality.
Excellent image quality that exceeds the sensor size's expectations
The OM-1 offers an OM SYSTEM-exclusive high-end compact, lightweight design, as well as the new 20 Megapixel Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and the latest TruePic X image processor, which is three times quicker than prior models. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 delivers high image quality that goes beyond the expectations of the sensor size.
Not only does it fully utilise the high-resolution M.Zuiko Digital lens' capability, offering OM System highest-ever resolution, but innovative noise processing technology boosts the maximum normal sensitivity to ISO 25600 and the maximum sensitivity to ISO 102400. In addition, thanks to the latest photo processing technologies, the dynamic range has been incredibly enhanced. From shadows to highlights, these enhancements offer a more diverse variety of tonal expressions than ever before.
The OM SYSTEM excellent feature of image stabilisation provides up to 8.0 stops of correction with 5-axis sync IS and up to 7 steps with the camera body alone. The new Handheld Assist function makes it simple to photograph slow shutter speed effects that typically require a tripod.
Computational photography functions enable photographers to broaden the scope of their photographic expressions
To make computational photography capabilities better and easier to use, the OM SYSTEM OM-1 employs a combination of the new TruePic X image processor, the new image sensor, and the newest digital technology. The system, when combined with high-performance M.Zuiko PRO lenses, allows you to capture a wider spectrum of image expressions with the OM SYSTEM OM-1 camera.
High-Res Shot: The processing time has been considerably lowered (Handheld High-Res Shot: approx. 5 seconds to merge) for 50 MP Handheld High-Res Shot, which is popular for landscape photographs because it can capture high-resolution approximately 50 Megapixel images by combining multiple pictures; and Tripod High-Res Shot, which produces ultra-high-resolution approximately 80 Megapixel images. Composite processing technology helps to reduce noise by approximately two steps, resulting in an incredibly high pixel count with minimal noise. In addition. for improved usability, a dedicated button on the camera is incorporated to swiftly switch between conventional photography and Handheld High-Res Shot/Tripod High-Res Shot
Live ND: Create slow shutter speed effects similar to those seen when using an ND filter up to ND64 (6 steps) (ND2 - ND64). When you enable LV Simulation, you can preview the slow shutter speed effects in the viewfinder and on the LCD panel before photographing, and you can obtain the same results with ultra-wide-angle lenses that cannot fit an ND filter.
Live Composite: Lighten Composite is used in this setting to add only the brighter areas to the composite image, preventing the usual problem of excessively bright images overall while photographing long exposures, resulting in stunning Lighten Composite photos with lots of variation. This function is now image stabilisation compatible and can be utilised while shooting handheld.
Focus Stacking: This feature adjusts the focus to capture and assemble multiple shots of images that are in focus from foreground to background. For ease of use, the compositing time has been diminished significantly.
HDR Photography: Multiple photos with varying exposures are combined to produce a single image with a wide dynamic range, including highlights and shadows.
High-speed autofocus performance and significantly increased performance for maximum 50 fps continuous photography with AF/AE tracking
On-chip Phase Detection in both vertical and horizontal directions is possible using a quad-division photo diode arrangement. The world's first13 Cross Quad Pixel AF, with 1,053 cross-type points, is used to focus on varied patterns of subjects over all pixels and the whole shooting range. The new TruePic X processor's high-speed computation capabilities, along with the improved AF algorithm, allow improved, high precision focusing on the subject no matter where it is in the frame. This model also includes AI Detection AF, which was created utilising deep learning technology.
The OM-1 mirrorless camera can identify formula cars, motorbikes, aeroplanes, helicopters, trains, and birds, as well as animals, in addition to greater-than-ever high-speed, high-precision subject recognition and tracking (dogs and cats). This functionality is supported by S-AF in addition to C-AF for photographing a broader range of scenarios. Face-Priority/Eye Priority AF detection precision, tracking performance, and responsiveness have all been greatly enhanced.
Sequential shooting performance has also improved tremendously, with up to 50 frames per second blackout-free AF/AE tracking at roughly 20.37 Megapixel and up to 120 frames per second AF/AE locked ultra-high-speed continuous shooting. You can experience sequential shooting up to 50 fps (AF/AE tracking) and up to 120 fps (AF/AE locked) when utilising Pro Capture, which is meant for capturing images that are not possible during normal shooting.
The OM-1 camera body has improved dust and splash resistance, as well as a high-speed, high-resolution electronic viewfinder
The dustproof and splashproof capability is achieved by integrating sealing materials at strategic spots on the robust, lightweight magnesium alloy body, ensuring IP53 dustproof and splashproof protection class6, as well as freezeproof performance, to -10°C. This model is a strong ally when shooting in harsh conditions because it is portable, lightweight, and has dustproof and splashproof capabilities.
The OM-1 high-performance EVF features a 5.76 million dot resolution, a viewfinder magnification of up to 1.65x, a display delay of 0.005 seconds, and a high-speed display capability of 120 frames per second. It not only has all of the benefits of an optical viewfinder, but it also has the benefits of a digital viewfinder, allowing you to observe objects and check exposure even in low-light situations.
On the OM SYSTEM OM-1 Micro Four Thirds Camera, the menu screen configuration has been totally overhauled. To make it easier to discover the needed functions and change settings for first-time users, items have been separated, merged, and reorganized, and descriptions have been simplified.
Enhanced video functions for creators (10bit 4K 60p, Full HD 240p)
Thanks to the compact, lightweight design and industry-leading picture stabilisation, stable handheld video recording is available. 4K 60p for smooth, high-definition videos and high-speed movies with Full HD footage at a maximum of 240p are among the creative video functions. For video clips longer than 30 minutes, the camera supports H.264 (8bit), H.265 (10bit), and Multi-Frame Rate. In addition to RAW data output up to 12 bit, 4:4:4 to external devices for advanced post-production tasks, the OM SYSTEM OM-1 supports OM-Log for greater control over imaging expressions through colour grading, allowing users to capture highlights and shadows without overexposing or underexposing shots. For easier HDR video recording, a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) video image option has been also added.
