The M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO II lens employs an optical configuration with 14 elements in 9 groups (1 EDA lens, 2 aspherical lenses, 1 DSA lens, 2 ED lenses, 1 HD lens, 2 HR lenses) with 4 aspherical lenses, including a DSA lens, strategically placed to obtain a compact, lightweight form and excellent depictive performance of an M.Zuiko PRO lens. By effectively accounting for zoom-induced aberrations, great resolution is achieved from the centre to the corners of the frame across the whole zoom range, from wide-angle 24mm equivalent to mid-telephoto 80mm equivalent. When utilising High Res Shot mode, this outstanding-performance lens maximises the camera body's high image quality capability.
