The Olympus Tough TG-6 Red compact camera is built with explorers and adventurous families in mind. Its reinforced exterior is waterproof, shock proof, freeze proof, crush proof and dust proof meaning the camera can basically survive anything you can. Hiking, snorkelling, swimming, riding, paddling, jumping, flying, falling, and everything in between.

Waterproof, Shock Proof, Crush Proof, Freeze Proof

Waterproof to a depth of 15m, freeze proof to -10°C, able to withstand 100kgf, and rated to survive a fall from a height of up to 2.1m, the TG6 thrives in the great outdoors. Sealing throughout all ports and seams are combined with a double-locking mechanism on the battery cover deliver confidence in and around the water. A dual-pane protective glass configuration on front of the lens reduces fogging, ensuring reliability even when going through extreme temperature differences.

Capture the Action

The bright f/2.0 lens of the TG6 allows encourages you to take advantage of fast shutter speeds to freeze fast moving subjects. Its lens has a 4x optical zoom that helps you fill the frame with your subject, even from a distance.

Backlit CMOS Image Sensor

The internals of the camera continue to impress. Ideal for a wide range of photographic scenarios the TG-6 features a high speed blacklit CMOS image sensor that is combined with an anti-reflective coating for maximum image sharpness and contrast.

TruePic VIII Image Processor

To complement the sensors performance a TruePic VIII image processor from Olympus’s flagship camera, the OM-d E-M1X has been squeezed in to improve speed, noise levels, and image quality in low-contrast areas.

4K30 / Full HD 120fps Video Recording

The TruePic VIII chip also delivers Ultra-sharp 4K Video recording, and 120fps slow-motion recording in Full HD to ensure you’re equipped to tell the stories that photos just cannot capture.

Pro Capture Pre-Burst Shooting

A Pro Capture Mode enables shooting at 10fps for 0.5 seconds before the shutter is fully pressed. Compensating for the slight delay in reaction time, the Pro Capture feature makes it easy to freeze those moments which are over in the blink of an eye.

Underwater Modes

Shooting underwater is now a breeze with thanks to the five different underwater modes and 3 underwater white balance pre-sets. Optimised to suit a variety of shooting conditions the underwater modes include underwater wide, underwater macro and underwater HDR. The white balance modes can be adjusted to cater for shallow water, mid-range and deep water, ensuring true-to-life colour in a variety of conditions.

1cm Macro Focusing Distance

A variable macro system further enhances the tough TG-6’s creative flexibility. An astonishing focusing distance of just 1cm is combined with a 7x zoom to deliver details in even the smallest objects. Explore the hidden world of macro photography and get up close with plants, flowers and insects. It’s like having a microscope in your pocket!

Built-in Focus Stacking

Combine its macro capabilities with the updated focus stacking mode and up your creative game. The focus stacking mode captures multiple shots while automatically shifting focus points from the foreground to the background. The camera can then extract the areas in focus and merge them into a final image with a deep focus depth.

Built-in Wi-Fi, GPS, Altitude and Temperature Sensor

The Olympus TG-6 Red records more than just outstanding images and 4K video. It also keeps track of location data using a combination of satellite services like GLONASS, QZSS and GPS. It can sense and record altitude and water depth, air and water temperature, and has an integrated compass to record shooting direction. 1.04 million-dot LCD Screen

The rear of the TG6 has been updated with a 1.04million-dot LCD to ensure maximum clarity, even when shooting in direct sunlight. The screens improved resolution makes reviewing images for critical sharpness and detail a joy.
