The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II is the revolutionary Olympus flagship model capable of delivering blistering fast autofocus, and an incredibly high speed of capture for impressive results. With a new 20.4 Megapixel Live MOS Sensor and a lightning quick 120fps viewfinder it is built to be durable and robust with advanced weather sealing.
The E-M1 Mark II is the perfect camera for professional photographers that demand high performance but also don’t want to carry around a tonne of gear.
Re-Designed Image Quality
Featuring a 20.4 megapixel Live MOS Sensor ensures that you can capture images with fine detail and accurate colours. The updated sensor improves pixel performance and has been optimised for operation at higher sensitivities.
With an anti-reflective coating on the surface of the sensor flaring and ghosting are reduced and a high speed readout decreases the rolling shutter effect when shooting video.
Dual Quad Core Image Processor
The new TruePic VIII Image Processor allows the camera to process image data quickly and accurately to provide 18fps of constant subject tracking and auto exposure calculations.
It consists of two separate quad core processors one dedicated solely to image processing and the other handling camera control and other computations.
This advanced image processor can parallel process the sensor reading to provide speedy response and a low power consumption.
Perfect Framing
Using a completely new 2.36M dot electronic view finder (EVF) provides a blistering quick 120fps refresh rate. With such a fast refresh rate it makes it easier than ever to track your subject and ensure that your image composition is spot-on.
Improved Continuous Drive Mode
Boasting an 18 frames per second drive mode with auto focus tracking and auto exposure the Camera can also offer a ridiculously quick 60 frames per second with the autofocus and exposure locked for the first frame by using an electronic shutter.
This means you can capture a huge amount of frames, perfect for fast paced action or occasions when you need to have as much coverage as possible.
Redefined Autofocus
Speedy reliable autofocus is as essential for sports shooters, as it is for animal photographers and photo journalists. In this department the mark II certainly does not disappoint, with a 121 cross-type focus points in its on-chip AF sensor it offers autofocus with a refined response.
Pro Capture Mode
The New Pro Capture Mode starts capturing JPEG or RAW images as soon as you half press the button using the cameras silent electronic shutter.
When you finish the shutter press, the camera records that exact moment as well as the 14 previous frames.
This gives you even more ways to time your capture and provides 14 frames of backup if you're a little late to the party.
Dual Card Slots
Professionals demand reliability and want to know that the moment they press the shutter button their image is backed up for their clients. The E-M1 Mark II has dual integrated SD Card slots that can be setup as an overflow system or as an instant backup to make sure that even if one of your cards stops working your images and safe and protected on the other slot.
Slot 1 can support UHS-II/UHS-I while Slot 2 support UHS-I so you can take advantage of the fastest cards on the market.
4K Cinema Video
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II introduces 4K video to the EM-1 range so that you can capture Cinema 4K at a resolution of 4096x2160 pixels for an even better resolution in all your videos.
The camera also features HDMI monitor connection with a 4:2:2 output for expanded colour grading options.
4K video features include single frame extraction at a much higher megapixel resolution than normal High Definition video files.
5-Axis Stabilisation
The updated stabilisation system enables slower shutter speeds in dark lighting situations to achieve much better results. With an incredible 5.5 stops of vibration control it only gets better when you combine the camera with lens that offers in-built image stabilisation, which allows you to use 5-axis sync IS with a whopping 6.5 stops of shake reduction.
Combined with the improved high ISO performance this makes the camera a fantastic option for low light photography.
Weather-Proof Construction
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II is constructed to be dustproof, splash proof and freeze proof to -10°C to deliver high end performance in any environment.
This rugged construction means that you can be confident in your camera allowing you to focus on getting the shot that you want to capture.
Advanced Shooting Modes
As well as excellent optical performance for quick moving subjects and video applications the EM1 Mark II also offers a broad range of different shooting modes. With Silent Mode for more discrete shooting, Focus Stacking Mode for Excellent Macro Shooting, as well as a Live Composite Mode that allows you to create beautiful nightscapes without the risk of overexposure.
The stabilised sensor can also be used to create an Ultra-high-resolution image by shifting the sensor and combining the image to deliver 50 Megapixel shots.
Portable Versatile Design
The Olympus EM1 Mark II is designed to be taken anywhere, with its impressive all weather design as well as a lightweight design.
An new battery offers a more than 35% higher capacity for the camera and an updated battery charger can refresh batteries 50% faster.
Even with a Battery and a Memory card the Body weighs only 574g making it perfect for travel photographers and people on the go.
Featuring a massive range of features and a sleek professional body design the Olympus OMD E M1 Mark II sets a new benchmark for mirrorless systems by offering high end performance while still retaining a compact form factor. Complementing the Olympus range of PRO and Premium lenses this camera promises to deliver astounding image and 4K video results.
