Compact Powerhouse

The Nikon Z50 is a powerful little camera, boasting a compact mirrorless body design and an impressive 20.9-megapixel APS-C sensor with 209 hybrid AF points that cover around 90% of the frame. It also features Nikon's Intelligent Eye-Detection autofocus system, 4K video recording, 11fps burst shooting and a 2.36 million dot EVF. To top it off, the Z50 comes with two great kit lenses - the Nikon Z DX 16-50mm VR Lens and the Nikon Z DX 50-250mm VR Lens - covering focal lengths from wide to telephoto, and Vibration Reduction for steadier shots in low light.

20.9-megapixel APS-C Image Sensor

At the heart of the Z50 is a DX size CMOS image sensor, based on the popular D500 DSLR, with an impressive 20.9-megapixel resolution for high quality images and 4K video recording. The camera has the same lens mount as it's big brothers, the Z6 and Z7, which makes it compatible with the existing S lenses as well as the new range of Z mount DX lenses, not the mention that by simply adding the FTZ adapter you can mount Nikon's DSLR lens line-up as well.

Hybrid Autofocus with Eye Detection

The sensor has 209 phase and contrast detection autofocus points that cover approximately 90% of the surface, allowing the camera to precisely track the movement of your subject so you can capture a higher number of in-focus shots. The camera also features Nikon's proven intelligent eye-detection autofocus which is a great tool to create sharp portraits of people.

High ISO for Low Light Performance

The Z50 is a low-light beast with a native ISO of 100 that extends all the way up to 51200 thanks to the EXPEED 6 image processing, making the camera a great choice for nightscapes and low-light portraiture photographers. The autofocus system acquires focus in lighting as dark as -4EV and it is the first Z-series camera to offer a built-in pop up flash.

Selfie Flip Screen with Touch Control

With a neat flip design, the rear 3.2-inch LCD on the Z50 folds downwards 180°, making it easy to capture selfies, vlog and check your composition before pressing the shutter. In this mode all the controls except the shutter and touchscreen are disabled to stop accidental setting adjustments.

Built-in Creative Modes

Make your photography more fun by experimenting with the preset creative mode that allows you to add black and white filters, increased vibrancy or combine multiple exposures together for unique looking results. You can also play around with the night vision, pop, toy camera effect, miniature camera effect and more if you're looking for a laugh.

2.36 Million Dot Electronic Viewfinder

Even though the Z50 mirrorless is super-compact and portable, Nikon still squeezed in an electronic viewfinder with a 2.36 million dot resolution. This dramatically improves the shooting experience, making it easier to frame your composition even when it's super bright and sunny. The EVF can be used while recording video and is a convenient way to review your shots.

Built for Comfort and Reliability

Nikon have constructed the Z50 with a magnesium alloy build that ensures the camera is incredibly robust while at the same time being lightweight and convenient. The grip is deep enough to be comfortable for long shoots with an emphasis on ergonomics and functionality.

High Resolution 4K & 120fps Full HD Video

Keeping up with the latest technology, the Z50 records full pixel readout video in glorious 4K, available in a variety of frame rates like 24, 25 and 30p, providing the ability to capture beautiful, cinematic footage that springs to life when viewed on a compatible TV. The camera also records 120fps slow motion video in Full HD with audio and has focus peaking to assist for manual focussing.

Burst Shooting up to 11fps

The Z50 may be small but it still packs a punch especially when it comes to covering fast-paced action thanks to a blazingly fast drive mode of 11 frames-a-second with a mechanical shutter. This gives you the ability to capture a quick succession of shots so you can pick out the perfect moment.

Capture Intimate Moments in Silence

Mirrorless cameras can use an electronic shutter, allowing you to capture images in complete silence. This allows you to create images discreetly without disturbing the peace with the obnoxious sound of a mechanical shutter curtain.

Bluetooth & Wi-Fi for SnapBridge 2.6 Support

The Nikon Z-50 Mirrorless APS-C camera has integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity that provides the ability to connect it to your mobile device for remote shooting, wireless triggering and file transfer even when the camera is powered off and in your bag.
