The Nikon D810 is a feature-packed workhorse DSLR camera designed to meet the high expectations of serious enthusiasts and professionals alike. A 36.3 Megapixel full-frame FX-format CMOS sensor is a technological marvel that effortlessly delivers colours, tones and textures with true precision.

The intuitive EXPEED 4 image processor, as featured in the flagship D4S, allows the D810 to achieve complex internal tasks and background processes at a lightning pace. This is a welcome pairing for photographers looking to produce continuous ultra-high definition images at approximately 5fps in FX format (up to 7fps in DX format) and videographers wishing to process fluid Full HD 1080/60p movies with a 24p playback rate.

Striking improvements in its video features will surely please videographers and film makers. A new flat video profile provides user convenience for editing footage colour during post-production. Dual microphones are featured on the front to enable stereo audio recording while external mic users are now able to divide the recording into separate wide and voice ranges.

Additionally, the D810 is capable of filming in an auto ISO mode to deliver flexibility by allowing the user to maintain full manual control over aperture and shutter speed while the camera takes care of auto-adjusting the ISO to match changes in lighting.

Its wide ISO 64 - 12800 range is extendable to ISO 32 - 51200 when necessary and courtesy of the improved light reception capabilities of the EXPEED 4, delivers supreme low-light performance. Furthermore, improved algorithms within the EXPEED 4 processor also reduce noise across all ISO options to provide unparalleled image clarity and depth. The absence of an optical low pass filter (OLPF) unlocks an added world of image sharpness and image clarity.

Capturing subjects in motion with the D810 is a breeze as 51 focus points including 15 cross-type sensors and an innovative Group Area AF mode subtract difficulty from the equation to allow users freedom to focus intently on the framed subject.

A generously large and sharp 3.2-inch, 1229k-dot LCD display monitor produces astoundingly bright and crisp image playback with uncompromised accuracy on colour reproduction. Similar to a tablet or smartphone, the D810’s LCD monitor auto-adjusts its brightness to cater for current surroundings and with the inclusion of an anti-reflective surface, is a joy to view in all lighting scenarios.

Its intuitive design features a RAW S Small setting which is extremely handy for outputting 12-bit uncompressed NEF files at 2464 x 1640 (approximately half-resolution) at a reduced file size of approx. 12MB. This allows the user to faster edit images and saves valuable memory card space while delivering the editing flexibility of RAW files.

High-speed CF and SD dual card slots provide flexibility by allowing the user to capture RAW and JPEG files simultaneously on separate cards, or to mirror the same data on both for backup purposes. For added compatibility, the CF slot is compatible with the latest UDMA 7 standard while the SD slot is compatible with SDXC and UHS-1.

Housed within a rugged, weather-sealed magnesium alloy body, Nikon engineers have designed the Nikon D810 Digital SLR Camera to have its sophisticated internals well shielded from the elements and accidental shock to deliver a truly wonderful photographic experience for all demanding users.
