This Nikon lens provides a traditional fisheye perspective at 15mm, and an incredibly distinctive 180° framing when zoomed out to 8mm, creating a completely circular image. It features a gold ring series optical design with three extra low-dispersion elements and two aspherical elements, ensuring clear, sharp images with excellent contrast.

Designed for FX-format Sensors

The 8-15mm fisheye is designed for use with full frame Nikon DSLRs, but is also compatible with DX models because of Nikon’s versatile F-Mount system. When mounted on an APS-C sized sensor the lens has an equivalent focal length range of 12-22.5mm.

Gold Series Optics

Constructed with precision optics the lens makes use of three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) elements to control colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, as well as two aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations and minimise coma. This makes the gold series lens ideal for astrophotography shooting wide open as well as high resolution landscapes.

Silent Wave Autofocus with Manual Override

Using a Silent Wave autofocus Motor the lens delivers quiet, smooth AF with pinpoint accuracy at high speeds. The focus ring may be rotated at any time to override the autofocus, allowing instant switching between AF and MF for precise focus adjustments.

Maximum f/3.5 Aperture with Electromagnetic Diaphragm

With a bright maximum f/3.5 aperture at the widest setting, the lens also features an electromagnetic diaphragm which works with select cameras to provide improved exposure control.

Internal Focusing System

The lens has an internal focusing system which shifts the optical element groups internally so that the physical dimensions of the lens remain constant during while focusing. This makes it easier capture close-up images and keep the lens well balanced at any focal length.

Multiple Optical Coatings

An ultrafine lens coating of nano-size crystal particles is used on the lens elements to reduce internal reflections for clearer images. Combined with Nikon’s Super Integrated Coating, which minimises ghosting and flaring this helps to improve image sharpness, contrast and clarity.
