The Nikon Circular Polarizer II Filter is a 112mm multicoated filter that reduces flare and glare, providing increased saturation and clearer images with more contrast. When you rotate the front ring, you can see the polarization effect in the viewfinder or on the LCD screen. On a bright day, you can control the saturation of a blue sky to enhance the definition of cloud formations. Plus, when shooting into water, the reflections often associated with landscape photography can be minimised or eliminated. This slim filter ring design means it can be used on wide-angle lenses without vignetting the image corners. A circular polarizer is an essential tool for landscape photography, and it can also reduce reflections and glare when shooting through a glass window, museum showcase, or car window.
Note: Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems)
