Laowa Nanomorph 50mm T2.4 1.5X S35 (Amber) - (Cine) Arri PL (Default) + EF

This Laowa Nanomorph 50mm T2.4 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens is a slender, compact lens designed to capture high-definition video with a 1.5x anamorphic squeeze on S35 sensors. It boasts a 50mm focal length, a PL lens mount with an included EF-mount bayonet option, and an aperture range of T2.4 to T22 for versatile depth of field control. The lens also includes 13 iris blades, which provide a shallow depth of field and soft, cinematic bokeh.

The prime lens has a very short minimum focus distance of 27.5" and offers anamorphic qualities such as high contrast, amber colour lens flares, and a 42° horizontal field of view. Other features include measurement markings in feet and meters, 0.8 MOD cine gears on focus and aperture rings, and a 77mm front filter thread. The lens comes default with an ARRI PL lens mount, and a Canon EF bayonet mount is included for compatibility with a wide range of cameras.

Constant 1.5x Squeeze Ratio

A 1.5x squeeze ratio is a perfect balance between the size and anamorphic intensity. With a 1.5x squeeze ratio, you will have a 2.66:1 on a 16:9 sensor after de-squeeze. There is also room for you to crop into a 2.4:1 widescreen ratio.

Artistic Oval Bokeh

A 1.5x squeeze ratio also renders oval bokeh that gives an artistic touch to the image. It also creates a blurry and creamy background that pops out the subject.

Amber Anamorphic Flare Colour

Amber flares are good for narrative and warm vibes and are less common among cine lenses.

Short Focus Distance

The 27.5" close focus distance is short so users can create closer shots. It renders a shallower depth of field, so the sense of compression will be stronger and the bokeh will be more oval-shaped.

Unified Gear Position

The unified gear position allows users to switch lenses quickly and without readjustment on the focus gear.

77mm Filter Thread

A 77mm filter can be attached directly to the lens for a variety of handy setups. The small diameter is favorable when doing run-and-gun shots or utilising it with an aerial drone.

Dual Scales

Both imperial and metric scales are printed on the lens body.

0.8 MOD Gears

Industry-standard 0.8 MOD gears are installed on both the aperture and focus rings.
