Wide-Angle Lens with Exceptional Performance

The Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D lens Sony FE has been designed to provide a high-quality, wide-angle option for a variety of photography styles. Its bright, fast f/2 aperture is great for lowlight conditions, making it a great choice for astrophotography and night scapes. Despite being a wide-angle lens, it has virtually no edge distortion, so you can be sure your images will be sharp with minimal post-processing corrections. With smooth, internal manual focusing and an optional clicked or de-clicked aperture ring, the lens is also great for video applications, offering plenty of creative options. The all metal design looks great with your camera, feeling solid and premium in hand.

Ultra-Wide Angle and Fast Aperture

The Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D lens Sony FE has a 110° ultra-wide angle of view when used with full frame cameras, perfect for capturing sprawling landscapes or architecture. Combined with a fast, bright f/2 aperture, the lens is an excellent lowlight performer, making it ideal for astrophotography as well.

Zero-Distortion Design

From its closest focusing distance of 15cm, to its infinite focus point, the lens has incredibly tight edges. Even when shooting with a wide open aperture, the edges are clean with almost zero distortion and minimal smearing. This really helps limit the amount of post-processing effort.

Smooth Focus and Switchable Aperture Ring

Being a full-manual lens, the Laowa 15mm offers a smooth well-controlled focus ring and internal focusing so the lens doesn’t rotate while you’re getting things just right. The separate aperture ring has a switch that allows you to use it with click-stops or de-clicked, ideal for quiet video work.

Advanced Optical Design with Hydrophobic Coating

Made up of 12 elements in 9 groups, the optical design features 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra low dispersion elements to minimise edge distortion and help control chromatic aberrations and fringing, ensuring sharp images with good contrast. The front element has Laowa’s amazing ‘Frog Eye’ hydrophobic coating, so water and dust beads up and wipes off easily.

Get Creative with a Nice Bokeh

A near circular 9-blade diaphragm results in a nice, round bokeh effect in your out-of-focus background highlights. It also forms impressive 14-point sun stars when shooting the sun or other bright points of light, offering the ability to create some really interesting looking effects.

Removable Lens Hood and Room for Filters

Despite being a wide-angle lens, the front element is relatively flat and somewhat recessed, allowing room for a 72mm filter thread, no bulky filter holders required. The included petal-shaped lens hood is easily removable and provides a bit of added protection from light impacts and glare.

Lightweight, Compact, and Solid

With a sleek all metal design, the Laowa 15 mm f/2 Zero-D lens Sony FE looks and feels great in hand, offering a solid build quality while remaining quite light at about 0.5 kg. An impressive feature list packed into a small, compact body, the lens fits easily into your everyday gear bag and works well for so many applications, from shooting tall city buildings, to capturing the night sky.
