Fujifilm GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR Lens

The Fuji GF 80mm F1.7 R WR Lens is the world's first Large Format Interchangeable lens with an F/1.7 aperture and AF. It has a standard 80mm focal length, which is equivalent to 63mm on a 35mm sensor size. This makes it a great all-rounder for a wide range of applications.

Designed for Limitless Creativity

The Fuji GF 80mm F1.7 R WR has an aperture with 9 rounded diaphragm blades for beautiful bokeh through the aperture range.

The GF80 has been constructed using 12 lens elements, one of which is aspherical and 2 Super ED elements. Grouped into 9 groups, the lens is balanced to reduce spherical aberration and provide an unmatched bokeh.

Enhanced by the larger format, the 1.7 aperture gives amazing foreground to background separation with your GFX System camera.

The technology behind production on this lens means that the surfaces of the aspherical lens elements can be manufactured with a tolerance down to just 1/100,000th of a millimetre. This high level of accuracy is five times more precise than regular moulding with a reduction in the onion ring effect that slight defects can bring to out of focus areas.

The addition of this 80mm focal length lens to the Fuji line-up gives portrait shooters a great option for wider framing, in conjunction with the FUJINON GF 110mm F2 R WR.

Accurate & Fast

The Fuji GF 80mm F1.7 has a strong DC motor with plenty of torque driving the 6 lens elements in the focus group. This gives accurate and reliable autofocus at speed, even with a shallow depth of field at the wide-open aperture of F1.7.

Fuji's Face/Eye AF function is supported for precision focus. An advanced algorithm is able to get focus on a subject’s eye or face even when they are in motion.

The Fuji GFX100's autofocus scene luminance limit is improved by half a stop from EV-5.0 to EV-5.5. This gives even more robust AF in lower light scenarios when using the Fuji GFX100.

Compact & Functional

With a filter thread size of just 77mm and measuring 9.92cm in length, the GF 80mmF1.7 is a useable and functional working size without any compromise on quality. With a weight of 0.795 kg, it will be a good fit for studio or on-location shoots.

There are seals for weather resistance on 10 locations on the lens offering protection from both water and dust. These seals also provide operability down to the low temperature of -10°C. A coating of fluorine on the front element repels dirt giving extra protection.
