The focal length of 45mm delivers a 35mm format equivalent focal length of 36mm giving the lens a slightly-wide angle look perfectly suited for street shooting, and landscape-style photography. The versatile focal length gives you the ability to step back to capture busy scenes but also to get nice and close to your subject without worrying about unflattering lens distortion.

Bright Maximum f/2.8 Aperture

With a maximum aperture of f/2.8 the lens is one of the fast lenses available for the GFX series of cameras. The bright aperture makes the lens more than capable of handling difficult lighting conditions while at the same time providing extensive control over your images depth of field. The 9-bladed diaphragm renders out-of-focus areas with a beautiful bokeh for stunning shots.

Aspherical and Extra-Low Dispersion Elements

The lens has optics in 8 groups consisting of a total 11 elements, one of which is an aspherical element that minimises distortion and spherical aberrations for ultra-sharp results. The lens also uses two extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations so you can shoot towards your light source without fear of colour fringing.

Advanced Optical Nano Coating

A Nano GI (Gradient index) coating is added to the glass to dramatically reduce flare and ghosting that result from unwanted light reflection. The coating is useful when shooting with strong lighting from various sources or when capturing backlight subject and helps capture clear images with rich contrast.

Internal Focusing for Quick Autofocus

The internal focusing mechanism means that the lens doesn't extend when focusing and the length remains the same. This provides more consistent performance and allows for quick autofocus response.

Range of Aperture Control Options

With an aperture dial on the front as well as the ability to adjust the aperture from the camera command dial the lens provides a range of choice of control options for photographers to select their aperture either manually or let the camera select the f-stop automatically.
