The Sony RX100M5 has been refreshed and is now the RX100M5A. Sony have enhanced the performance and features of the benchmark premium compact by adding an improved Bionz X processor, better autofocus features with an updated menu and user interface system.

20.1 Megapixel Exmor RS Sensor

Its 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor delivers 20.1 megapixel high resolution still images and Ultra HD 4K video recording. The sensor is teamed with Bionz X advanced image processor to deliver uncompromising speed and versatility, offering faster more precise focusing, a 24fps burst mode and super slow motion video at up to an amazing 960fps.

24-70mm Zeiss Vario-Sonnar Lens

A Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens features a 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8 large aperture lens, delivering the versatility to capture landscapes, portraits, street photography and more. The lens is complemented by an intuitive control ring that is equipped to control shutter speed, aperture and more for maximum creative control and a pleasurable shooting experience.

Improved AF System

An improvement over the RX100M5, the RX100M5A has a Fast Hybrid AF system that now offers Sony's popular Eye-AF feature for faster and more accurate face tracking of your subject. The system is capable of obtaining focus in a mere 0.05 seconds and the lightning fast speed is complemented by an impressive 315 dedicated AF points, with over 65% coverage of the sensor. Extra AF features include the addition of a "Zone" focus area and the ability to set face priority and register an AF area. The camera an also detect when you change between lanscape and portrait orientation and adjust your AF point accordingly.
 

24fps Burst Mode

Harnessing the power of the Bionz image processor, the RX100V's focusing system is able to capture photos at 24fps in full resolution with AF/AE tracking, equipping you with the ability to capture even the most fleeting moments in razor sharp clarity. The buffer has been boosted and can hold a massive 233 JPEG images shot in continuous drive mode.

1/32000th Maximum Shutter Speed

An innovative anti-distortion shutter capable of a maximum shutter speed of 1/32000th seconds minimises rolling shutter and enables the camera to fully exploit the f/1.8 maximum aperture on the Zeiss lens.
