The Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS Lens (SEL50F18B) is a great E-mount option for NEX mirrorless cameras and camcorders. With a fixed 50mm focal length, it has an equivalent 35mm focal length of 75mm, making it perfect for capturing stunning portraits and still life photos.

The bright f/1.8 aperture delivers beautifully soft out-of-focus backgrounds thanks to its 7 circular aperture blades. A linear motor used for focus drive contributes to low-noise focus operation while a stepping motor built into the lens results in smooth, quiet aperture actuation ideal for recording movies.

Take advantage of the built-in OpticalSteady Shot(OSS) image stabilisation in low-light scenarios for an approximate 4-stop shutter speed advantage, making it significantly easier to achieve crisp, blur-free images. Direct Manual Focus (DMF) is also available and allows you to manual focus after autofocus lock-on without having to switch modes, perfect for portraits where depth of field may be extremely shallow.
