The all-new Sony A7 III is a dynamic and versatile new addition to Sony's line-up of mirrorless full frame cameras. With a re-designed 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated and stabilised full frame image sensor that offers 15 stops of dynamic range, the camera now shoots 4K 30p video, Full HD at up to 120p for dreamy slow-motion and is undeniably packed with great features that deliver professional performance.

Offering a high-speed capture of 10 frames-a-second with Full AF/AE, the A7 III takes still images at full speed with either a mechanical or silent shutter. Combined with the 693 phase detection AF points, this make it easier than ever to capture fast moving subjects. The larger Z-style battery, control joystick, touchscreen and dual SD card slots are guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding of photographers.

24.2 Megapixel Back-Illuminated Exmore R CMOS Image Sensor

Using a back-illuminated design that maximises available light, the all-new 24.2-megapixel full frame sensor inside the A7 Mark III delivers improved image quality, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The cameras maximum ISO has been increased to 51200 and is expandable up to 204800 when capturing stills. The sensor can capture a massive 15 stops of dynamic range, making it an incredibly versatile imaging tool.

10 fps Burst Silent and Mechanical Shooting

With an ultra-fast capture speed of 10 frames-per-second with full AF/AE tracking in the new HI+ drive mode, the A7 Mark III can take lots of images of quick moving subjects with confidence that you're capturing the moments that matter. This incredible release speed is possible with either a mechanical shutter or electronic shutter for completely silent shooting when you need to shoot more discreetly.

693 Phase-Detection Points and Focus Tracking

Capable of world-class autofocus performance the new A7 Mark III has a 693 phase detection points as well as 425 contrast points that cover a massive 93% of the frame. This wide spread of autofocus points mean that when the AF system grabs focus it doesn’t let go until you're ready.

Eye Autofocus Tracking Mode

Sony's Eye-AF technology prioritises acquiring focus on your subject's eyes, making it perfect for capturing stunningly sharp portraits. The system can track movement and maintain sharp, accurate focus even when the face is partially obstructed, the subject is looking down or even if the shot is backlit. This incredible feature takes facial detection to the next level and allow you to deliver consistent results time and time again even when shooting in continuous focus mode.

4K Video and Full HD Slow Motion

The ability to shoot ultra-high resolution 4K video oversampled from a 6K sensor output means that A7 III is not just great at capturing stills, it also records incredibly sharp footage as well. A full-pixel readout without pixel binning ensures the highest quality and the camera offers both full frame and Super 35mm recording modes with bitrates up to 100Mbps.

The S&Q mode means you can shoot in-camera Full HD slow-mo at 120fps and create time-lapses and hyperlapses with ease

HDR and S-Log2/3 Colour Profiles

A selection of S-Log colour profiles ensure that you can get the absolute best performance from the sensor while also providing maximum colour grading flexibility for post-production video editing. The camera also includes a HDR/HLG mode for faster workflows that still make use of the ultra-wide dynamic range

Touchscreen Tilting LCD

The addition of a 3-inch touchscreen on the new A7 mirrorless camera provides improved control and playback functionality. The 922k-dot resolution displays sharp images and features a sunny weather mode to boost brightness for when shooting in bright daylight. The screen tilts up 107° and down 41° to provide the ability to compose from more unique perspectives

5-Axis In-Body Optical SteadyShot

The A7 III has a SteadyShot system built into the sensor that delivers a hefty 5 stops of image stabilisation for steadier video and sharper hand-held shots. The in-body design means it works even when a non-stabilised lens is mounted. This allows you to breathe new life into vintage and legacy manual focus lenses without sacrificing stabilisation. High Resolution XGA OLED Tru-Finder

Compose your shots with clarity using the 2.36 Million-dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder. A Zeiss T* coating reduces reflections for an ultra-clear viewing experience. The camera also includes a "High" viewing mode that provides finer image detail and the camera offers a focus magnification mode that can be used with autofocus to make sure your images are pin-sharp

Improved Battery Performance

The Sony A73 is powered by the same Z-series battery found in the Sony's flagship A9 camera and the megapixel monster the A7r III.

Rated for 710 shots on just one charge, this makes it around 2.2 times the capacity of the previous model. Compatibility with the QZ1 battery charger and the VG-C3EM vertical grip ensures that there is a wide range of power accessories available to suit your needs

Weather Sealed Body Design

Designed to resist dust and moisture the camera features weather seals on the major buttons and dial and boasts a durable and robust magnesium alloy top cover, front cover and internal frame. The lens mount has also been improved to improve the stability of the camera when shooting with larger telephoto lenses

Customisable Menu

After extensive feedback Sony have added the My Menu feature that allows you to customise one of the menu screens with your favourite settings. Dual Card Slots

Featuring not one but two SD card slots the new A7 iii now provides instant backup options that ensure against data corruption.
