Perfect For Many Shooting Scenarios
The RODE NTG-4 shotgun microphone is perfect for a broad range of recording scenarios. Ideal for busy filmmakers, its versatility is combined with convenient digital switching to deliver broadcast quality sound for independent films, documentaries, electronic news gathering, field recording, sound design and more.
Super-Cardioid Directional Pickup Pattern
Its shotgun style design can be mounted using a boom pole, a handheld pistol grip or on the standard hot-shoe atop your DSLR or mirrorless camera. Combined with a super-cardioid directional pickup pattern, it delivers great versatility for run-and-gun style shooters, ensuring the mic is capable of handling a variety of recording challenges that commonly occur when shooting in the field.
Beautifully Rich, Full Sound
The redesigned condenser capsule features a frequency range of 20 to 20,000Hz, a sensitivity of -32dB re 1V/pa, a dynamic range of 119db, a SNR ratio of 78dB and a maximum SOK of 135dB. The end result is a beautifully rich, full sound that complements your filming or broadcasting requirements.
Three Built-in Switches
Three switches along the body of the mic equip you with fast, convenient shortcuts to optimise your audio capture.
-10dB Pad Switch
The first button delivers a -10dB pad on the mic input to allow recording loud sounds or in loud environments without clipping.
75Hz High Pass
The middle button activates a 75Hz high pass filter that can be used to reduce low frequency rumble such as air conditioning and home appliances or distant street traffic from overpowering your recording.
High Frequency Boost
The third button is ideally used in conjunction with a blimp or windsock while shooting outdoors. It enables a high frequency boost to compensate for the muted highs that can sometimes occur when using a windshield or dead cat. The high frequency boost can also help improve the clarity of recorded speech, especially useful for interviews and electronic news gathering.
Setting Memory
A setting memory is built into the circuitry to ensure your settings are saved when the microphone is switched off, ensuring a consistent recording experience between takes.
Phantom Powered
Conveniently powered by Phantom power, the Rode NTG-4 shotgun microphone includes a RM5 microphone clip, a foam windshield and a ZP1 carry pouch.
