The Fujifilm X100V Black is the fifth iteration of the Fujifilm X100 series. Its newly designed 23mm f/2 lens is combined with the latest generation 26.1 Megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 image sensor and a new rear tilting LCD touchscreen design to offer content creators and casual everyday photographers a tool to help them see the world differently.

With significant improvements across multiple aspects, the X100 V embodies the constant endeavour for perfection that Fujifilm is renowned. What remains the same are the things that gave the X100 series such a fervent cult fanbase in the first place.

Rugged, Classic Retro Styling

The retro styling and utilitarian black or stylish two-tone silver and black colour options remain the same. The aluminium top and bottom plates that give the camera its refined, yet classic camera shape also remain virtually unchanged, bar a slight enhancement to the cameras grip and lens barrel for better ergonomics.

4th Gen X-Trans CMOS Sensor

Delivering razor sharp images and true to life colour reproduction that is synonymous with Fujifilm cameras, the X100 V utilises the latest 4^th generation 26.1 megapixel X-Trans CMOS sensor in conjunction with the quad-core X-Processor 4.

Back-Illuminated Sensor Design

Its back-illuminated design is combined with a unique colour filter array to maximise image detail and dynamic range without the need for an optical low-pass filter, equipping you with the ability to capture a broad range of photographic scenarios with confidence.

Improved Optical Sharpness

Image quality is further bolstered by the updated 23mm f/2 lens. With a 35mm equivalent focal length of 35mm, it has been enhanced for better sharpness when shooting wide open and less distortion in the corners. Offering significantly better optical performance to fully utilise every pixel on the large APS-C sized sensor, the lens is still compatible with optional accessories such as the WCL-X100 and TCL-X100 lens converters.

Improved Built-in 4-Stop ND Filter

The internal ND filter has also been improved. An increase from 3-stops to 4-stops allows you to utilise the bright f/2 maximum aperture to achieve shallow depth of field style shots, even in broad daylight.

4K30 and Full HD 120fps Video Recording

Improved 4K30 and Full HD 120fps video recording capabilities are available for when your story just can’t be told with a photo. The professional grade F-Log colour profile is great for colour grading footage to maximse your creative options, while a built-in micro HDMI interface, equips you with the ability to record 10-bit 4:2:2 footage to an external recorder.

17 Built-in Fujifilm Simulations

Like the previous generation cameras, the Fujifilm X100V leverages Fuji’s immense experience in colour science to offer built-in film simulations which mimic the colours and tones of Fuji’s most popular 35mm negative films.

Provia, Velvia, Acros Simulated Film Stock

Choose from 17 simulations including the famous PROVIA and VELVIA as well as the ACROS monochrome mode that boasts rich monochrome gradation as well as deep black and textures which is perfect for fine art photography and shots that need a different black and white look.

Film Simulations for Video

The film simulations can also be used in video mode, potentially saving you time having to colour-grade footage in post-production while offering you a consistent look and feel across your entire video project.

Hybrid Phase Detection Autofocus with Eye AF

With intelligent hybrid phase detection autofocus point the X100V further improves upon its predecessors by adding eye-detect AF. The industry standard for shooting perfect portraits, the AF can track a moving subject with impressive accuracy, locking focus in as little as 0.08 seconds. The system is capable of focusing in any light with thanks to its improved autofocus algorithm that can focus in light conditions as low as -5EV.

Hybrid OVF/EVF Viewfinder

Composing images through the vastly improved unique advanced Hybrid viewfinder is a joy. Choose between a 0.52x magnification optical viewfinder with parallax-correcting frame lines a 3.6 million-dot OLED EVF with live preview or an Electronic Rangefinder function that combines optical and electronic technologies by displaying a small EVF on the bottom right corner of the OVF.

3-inch Tilting Rear LCD Display

All facets of the rear screen have also been improved, except the size. It still remains a 3-inch 3:2 aspect LCD monitor that now features a 1.6 million-dot resolution for superior detail. The design of the screen now utilises a dual hinge design that enables it to flip up 90° or down approximately 45° for easy composition when shooting from extreme low or high angles.

Touchscreen LCD

The rear LCD now finally incorporates a touch functionality, delivering fast, intuitive menu navigation and playback. Integration of an AF touchpad is also a plus for EVF/OVF shooters, allowing them to simply touch the area of the screen they wish to focus on without having to take their eye away from the scene.

Built-in Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Connectivity

An integrated Wi-Fi connection allows the X100V to be controlled remotely from your mobile device and the low power Bluetooth version 4.0 means you can maintain a constant connection to a computer, tablet or smartphone for automatic transfer of photographs as you shoot.

Weather Sealed Body

Weather sealing rounds out this camera list of impressive updates. A first for the X100 line-up the Fujifilm X100 V Black is now partially weather sealed against dust and moisture. For full weather sealing you can install the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and mount a PRF-49 protection filter to completely protection the exposed front element of the lens.
