Movie Feature – captures Full HD video* with stereo audio up to 1920x1080 resolution and 1280x720p at 30, 25 or 24 fps. Stereo sound recording via an optional external microphone. Camera automatically maintains focus on a subject moving throughout the frame. Additional in-camera movie editing functions allow users to save a single frame as a still JPEG image or cut footage from the beginning or end of movie files.

Optional video kit which includes external microphone, hand grip and battery.

* As this camera does not have a built-in focusing motor it is only AF compatible with AF-S and AF-I Nikkor lenses, which are equipped with an autofocus motor. However it will work with other Nikon lenses but in Manual Focus only.
This camera will only autofocus with Sigma lenses that have a designation of HSM (Hypersonic Motor) or that state “built-in motor for Nikon”.
This camera will only autofocus with Tamron lenses that state “built-in motor for Nikon” or “USD” or “PZD” designation.

* We recommend using class 4 or higher memory cards for recording high definition video.

SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats. If the computer being used does not support SDXC Memory Cards, a message prompting you to format may appear. (Doing so will cause recorded images to be erased so do not choose to format.)
