The Canon PowerShot SX230 HS is the first Canon digital camera to feature GPS technology, which is perfect for travelling. The camera will remember where you have been with the log function and display using Google Maps*. The PowerShot SX230 HS also offers versatile shooting in a slim body with a 12.1 Megapixel High Sensitivity CMOS Sensor perfect for low-light situations and FULL HD video. The 14x Optical Zoom and 28mm wide-angle lens lets you get very close to the action and also capture sweeping panoramic landscapes or large group shots. The SX230 HS encompasses a range of shooting controls from point-and-shoot simplicity to full manual. And new Creative Filters allow you to add expressive flair to your images in-camera.

Movie Feature – captures full high definition video with audio up to 1920x1080 at 24fps, or iFrame Movie at 1280x720 at 30fps . Also features super slow-motion video at 120 or 240 fps (frames per second), miniature effect, and dynamic image stabilisation. Recording length is up to capacity of memory card.

* SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats. We recommend class 4 or higher memory cards for recording high definition video.

iFrame video format - The new iFrame video format can dramatically simplify and speed up the process of importing, editing and sharing your videos.

Creative Filters - Shoot with creative filters for an added effect: Fish Eye, Miniature, Toy Camera, Monochrome, Super Vivid, Poster, Colour Accent and Colour Swap effects are available.

Intelligent Auto (32 scenes) - Improved Auto mode in both photo and video mode makes it even easier to get the perfect shot

Face Detection – focuses and sets correct exposure on faces rather than other objects that may appear in the frame. Also includes face detection self timer for when you want to be in the shot too.

Servo AF / Servo AE – Tracks your subject and locks the focus and exposure on the target.

Smart Shutter – Includes a number of intelligent features such as Face Detection Self-timer, Smile Shutter and Wink Self Timer.

Optical Image Stabilisation - counteracts blurred images due to shaky hands or when shooting in low-light conditions. Also important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end. Up to approx. 4 stops compensation.

ISO to 3200 - this will help you take better photos in low lighting – reduces blur caused by camera shake or subject movement.

Intelligent Flash Exposure - Automatically detects whether flash is required and adjusts the flash output, shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed to best suit the photo being taken.

Red Eye Correction - this camera lets you fix red eyes in the camera, which is great if you're printing straight from the memory card or to a pictbridge compatible printer.

Blink Detection – warns you when someone blinks in the photo you have just taken

High Speed Burst Mode – shoot still photos up to 8.1fps (frames per second). Great for capturing action shots.

Mini HDMI output - High Definition movies can be viewed easily on a TV with optional mini HDMI -> HDMI cable (sold separately).
