The Canon IXUS 300 HS with its new 10-megapixel High Sensitivity CMOS sensor, in conjunction with the DiG!C 4 image processor creates Canon’s HS SYSTEM which enhances image quality in low-light situations and helps reduce noise at high ISO speeds. And the 300 HS’ f/2.0 lens further increases image sharpness and quality by allowing more light to enter, permitting higher shutter speeds and in turn reducing the effect of camera shake. The IXUS 300 HS has the fastest high-speed burst rate to date in a Canon compact digital camera with 8.4 frames per second (fps), so you will never miss any of the action. The IXUS 300 HS also features 720p HD movie recording plus a new Super Slow Motion movie function and incorporates Canon’s TruCapture technology – Optical Image Stabiliser for clear, sharp shots; DiG!C 4 Image Processor for true-to-life colours; and Intelligent Auto that makes taking photos easy. And with new ultra-high capacity SDXC* memory card support you will have even greater storage options for your HD memories. * SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats.  | What are the features and how will they benefit you? | | 10 Megapixel High Sensitivity CMOS Sensor – High Sensitivity CMOS Sensor for better noise reduction delivering outstanding quality images in low light. 28mm Wide-Angle Lens – f2.0 Aperture – cover a wide range of shooting situations - wide-angle allows you to capture more in your image – such as group shots, landscapes, tight interior shots. The large f/2.0 aperture allows better performance in low-lighting conditions as well as a shallow depth of field for beautifully blurred out-of-focus areas. DIG!C 4 - Canon's newest processor gives you clearer images with more vibrant colours, fast start-up time, super-fast image processing, and low power consumption. 3.0 inch LCD Screen - A large 3.0 inch LCD screen makes shooting and reviewing photos a pleasure. Optical Image Stabilisation - counteracts blurred images due to shaky hands or when shooting in low-light conditions. Also important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end. Intelligent Auto - New Auto mode with Scene Detection, Face Detection, Motion Detection and Noise Reduction makes it even easier to get the perfect shot – no need to fiddle around with menus to get the right camera settings. Intelligent Flash Exposure - Automatically detects whether flash is required and adjusts the flash output, shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed to best suit the photo being taken. Face Detection – focuses and sets correct exposure on faces rather than other objects that may appear in the frame. Also includes face detection self timer for when you want to be in the shot too.
Motion Detection - Analyses subject movement and adjusts image capture settings to freeze the action. Red Eye Correction - this camera lets you fix red eyes in the camera, which is great if you're printing straight from the memory card or to a pictbridge compatible printer. Blink Detection – warns you when someone blinks in the photo you have just taken Servo AF - tracks moving subjects, maintaining focus right up until the moment the user takes the shot. Great for sports, kids, animals etc. High Speed Burst Mode – shoot still photos up to 8.4fps (frames per second). Great for capturing action shots.
