As PENTAX’s 11th generation waterproof digital camera, the rugged, adventure-proof Optio W90 is ideal for any environment. Waterproof to 6 metres, shockproof to 1.2 metres, dustproof and freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius it’s built to withstand rough treatment wherever you’re shooting. Sporting a 12.1 megapixel sensor and 28mm wide angle 5X optical zoom lens you can capture high resolution images from sweeping landscapes to distant subjects. Its Large 2.7 inch LCD, with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, is easy to view even in strong light or underwater. A Digital Microscope mode with LED lens lighting perfectly captures even the smallest and closest macro subjects as near as 1cm from the camera. Capture movies in widescreen 720p HD video and Advanced Pixel Track Shake Reduction captures blur-free images in any lighting. Take perfect portraits with fast Face Detection, Smile Capture, Blink Detection, and processing modes specifically designed for portraiture. With the waterproof infra red remote control (O-RC1, sold separately) you can control the camera’s zoom and remote shutter release to prevent camera shake and get yourself in the picture, wherever you are. NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Movie Feature – captures video with audio up to 1280 x 720* HD resolution in 16:9 aspect ratio at 30 frames per second. Features an underwater movie mode that optimizes the image quality of movie clips captured under the water. Digital Shake Reduction functions in movie mode.  | What are the features and how will they benefit you? | | Waterproof – waterproof to 6 metres. Also, if you get it muddy or spill a drink on it, just rinse off with fresh water! Coldproof – can withstand temperatures as low as -10° Celsius – perfect for skiing, snowboarding etc. Shockproof - rugged design protects against shocks from small drops of up to 1.2 metres. It’s rubberized housing minimizes damage to the body and reduces shock to the interior mechanisms. “Pixel Track” SR Digital Image Stabilisation - Reduces blur caused by camera shake or subject movement. It helps when shooting at long zoom lengths, in low-light, or if hand is unsteady. 28mm Wide Lens – Fit more in the picture with a wide lens. Great for group shots, landscapes, architecture or any situation where you need to capture more of the image. Face Recognition - automatically detects faces (up to 32) and focuses on them (rather than just focusing somewhere in the centre). It also sets the exposure so that faces don't get darkened when there is bright light in the background. Smile Capture & Blink Warning – in this mode once shutter button is pressed the camera will detect when somebody in the frame smiles and then take a picture. Also gives you a warning if subject blinks so you can immediately re-shoot. Super Macro Mode - take stunning close-ups as near as 1cm away from subject Auto Tracking AF – continuously focuses on a moving subject. Auto Picture Mode - automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode for a given subject or scene by detecting the subject’s lighting and other conditions (from Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, Night Scene Portrait, Flower, Sport, Standard and Candlelight modes). Also features an auto macro mode, which automatically switches the camera’s focus range to macro in close-up applications. Small Face Filter - for better proportioned, more attractive portraits this filter makes the subject's face appear slightly smaller than in reality in recorded images, helping you to create better proportioned, more attractive portraits. Digital Filters - In addition to the conventional digital filters such as Black & White, Sepia and Color, the Optio W90 also offers other creative options, including Toy Camera, Retro, Soft, Extract Color, Color Emphasis, High Contrast, Starburst, Fish-eye, and Brightness. These filters lets you add creative and artistic touches to your images in-camera with minimal effort. Original Frame Function - comes with 45 different decorative photo frames in two different sizes to produce eye-catching, fun-packed pictures. Pet Detection Mode - automatically detect the faces of up to three cats or dogs AF Spotbeam Projector - assures pinpoint autofocusing in the dark Compatible with Eye-Fi Wireless SD Memory Cards – sold separately, these cards allow you to upload images using a wireless network CALS Mode - conforming to the Construction CALS (Commerce at Light Speed) standards World-Time Clock - a handy tool on overseas trips, as it provides the real-time display of standard time in 75 cities in 28 time zones around the world, as well as the time difference between your home town and travel destination. Calendar Function - calendar function automatically files captured images into day-by-day folders, you can instantly recall the images recorded on a particular day by selecting that day on the calendar screen. Removable Carabiner Strap – Included with the W90 is a carabiner strap for keeping your camera both secure and near at hand when in challenging environments. D-Range Setting – dynamic range setting helps to prevent whitewashed (overexposed) and blacked-out (underexposed) areas in an image. Micro HDMI Output – for viewing your videos and photos on an HDTV.
