The Olympus PEN LITE E-PL1 handles like a compact camera but provides the image quality and lens interchangeability of an SLR with its oversized 4/3 LiveMOS image sensor chip, TruePic V image processor, and choice of PEN interchangeable lenses. This new entry level PEN camera combines high-technology with maximum ease of use, providing the photographic novice with assistance to control key camera settings like aperture and shutter speed without having to take a photographic course to understand how to use them. At the same time, the PEN LITE will also interest the experienced photographer with its full manual exposure capability, Aperture and Shutter speed priority exposure modes, and even wireless flash capability. The E-PL1 also sports a 2.7” LCD screen, Pop-up Flash, dedicated movie button and in-body image stabilisation. This kit includes the Olympus E-PL1 body + Olympus M.Zuiko 14-42mm + Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm Lens + MMF-2 Lens Adapter. Movie Feature – now featuring a dedicated movie button the E-PL1 captures high definition video with high-quality PCM stereo audio up to 1280x720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Maximum recording length is 7 minutes in HD or up to a file size of 2gb*. Electronic image stabilisation functions during movie capture. Six Art Filter effects can be applied in the movie capture mode, and depth of field, angle of view and autofocus can all be varied during filming. 12.3-megapixel High-Speed Live MOS Sensor - In combination with the high optical performance provided by Micro Four Thirds lenses, this sensor captures high-resolution images that accurately reproduce your composition with exquisite detail, rich gradations and natural colours. Image Stabilisation – sensor shift stabiliser reduces blurring; compensates for the effects of camera shake - allows 3 EV steps of compensation. Supersonic Wave Filter – dust protection that shakes off dust particles from the sensor using ultrasonic vibrations – prevents dark spots appearing on your images. High Speed Sequential Shooting – fires up to 3 frames per second sequential shots (up to 10 RAW images). Great for sports, kids, animals. AF Tracking - for focusing on moving subject once the target subject is focused and locked, AF Tracking automatically follows it even while the subject is still moving. VF-2 Electronic Viewfinder - has an accessory port to enable use of the externally mounted viewfinder (sold separately), which offers high-contrast, 1,440,000-dot resolution and a 100% field of view. i-Auto Mode - Automatically identifies the scene you’re shooting and adjusts the camera’s settings for optimum exposure. Face Detection – adjusts for optimum exposure and focuses on faces rather than other picture elements that might be in the foreground or background. Shadow Adjust – automatically improves detail in shadowy areas of your image whilst retaining correct exposure of bright areas when confronted by high-contrast lighting situations such as bright sunshine with shadows. Six Art Filters – Gentle Sepia, Pop Art, dreamy Soft Focus, Diorama, or arty Pinhole filter effects so you can get creative with your shots, all in-camera. Multiple Exposure – creative mode that combines up to 3 overlapping RAW images into one image e-Portrait – smoothes skin on face for more attractive and youthful looking portrait shots. Multi Aspect – shoot in a range of different aspect ratios - 16:9, 3:2, 4:3 and 6:6 – to suit the composition of your shots. Live Preview - art filter, white balance, exposure compensation and depth of field can be previewed in real-time. Lens Mount Adapters – optional lens mount adapters are available enabling the usage of a large range of Four Thirds and legacy Olympus OM mount lenses. HDMI Output – easily view your images and high definition videos on a HDTV using an optional HDMI cable.
