The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZR1 is a compact travel camera featuring a powerful 8x optical zoom lens within a remarkably slim and compact body. With 8x zoom it makes it easy to pull in subjects from far away compared to conventional point-and-shoot cameras. For an added boost, zoom power can be increased to 15.6x with the Extra Optical Zoom function. The 25mm ultra wide-angle feature is ideal for both broad landscapes and tight indoor shots, letting photographers capture a wider view. The 12.1-megapixel resolution allows photos to be greatly enlarged while still retaining outstanding detail, or edited by cropping and enlarging parts of the photo to print. Intelligent Auto mode includes POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) which features double the repression power compared to the conventional image stabilization system. And high-speed auto focus, combined with a high-speed start-up of only 1.1 seconds, makes the ZR1 a fast and responsive camera. RRP $449. NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Movie Feature – captures HD video with audio up to 1280x720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Recording length is up to 2gb or capacity of memory card *, whichever occurs first. The zoom also functions whilst shooting video.

What are the features and how will they benefit you? |

Dual Image Stabilisation – Power O.I.S. optical and digital technology works together to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, subject movement, or when shooting in low-light conditions - important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end.
Leica DC Vario Elmar 25mm Ultra Wide-Angle 8x Optical Zoom Lens – cover a huge range of shooting situations from ultra wide-angle to capture more in your image - such as sweeping landscapes, tight interior shots and group shots - to telephoto where you can zoom up close to very distant objects.
iA (Intelligent Auto) – Automatically adjusts your camera for a range of different shooting situations and includes such features as face detection, intelligent scene selection, intelligent ISO, motion detection, and Power O.I.S. image stabilisation - get great shots without having to fiddle around with menus, modes etc.
Face Detection AF/AE with Face Recognition - detects and recognizes faces (up to 6) and automatically optimizes the focus and exposure settings. It prevents blurry faces that happen when the camera focuses on something in front of or behind the subject, and keeps faces from appearing dark when shooting indoors or against a light source.
2.7” LCD Screen – High resolution screen with wide viewing angle, automatic brightness adjustment and anti-reflective coating. Great for outdoors use.
AF Tracking/Subject Detection - Once you focus on your subject, the AF Tracking automatically tracks it until you press the shutter, keeping moving subjects in focus – great for kids, pets, sports etc.
Ultra High Speed AF - has a maximum speed of approx. 0.30 seconds for auto focusing. You can quickly get moving subjects in focus, such as when you're shooting sports scenes.
Auto Backlight Compensation - When there is strong backlighting, the background appears nice and bright, but the subject is dark. This function detects backlight conditions and compensates for it automatically.
Hi Speed Burst Consecutive Shooting - lets you snap off consecutive shots at approx. 10 frames per second.
Macro Zoom - lets you get as close as 3cm to your subject. In addition, when using the Macro Zoom function, you can pull subjects even closer to capture dramatic close-ups.
High Dynamic Mode - helps to capture a scene with moderate exposure even though the scene contains both bright and dark areas together such as when there is strong sunlight and deep shadows.
Seamless Slideshows – lots of options including playing slideshows with music, slideshows based on category ie recognized faces, still or movies only; or both. |
